Selene applied some eyeliner on her right eyelids. It smeared a little and she took a wipe to clean off the extra. She crossed checked to make sure it was just perfect, angling her head as she stared at the mirror.
Satisfied with the lines and certain that it was perfect enough she moved on to the mascara and applied a generous amount onto her lashes. She blinked, checking to make sure she did a good job.
Her lashes were of a generous length but were scanty but whenever she applied mascara it gave them the fullness they lacked and as she looked at them in the mirror she knew she had done a proper job.
Her hair was pulled back tightly but in a lazy manner that is in a way that a couple of strands of hairs fell out of the hold of the band. She wanted to look as professional as possible but in a casual manner. She was not sure what to expect at this meeting but one thing was for sure, she would be ready for anything.
She picked up her favorite lipstick, it was a shade of wine but it was closer to purple than red. She did not know the name and had bought it on a whim but had instantly fallen in love as soon as the lipstick had touched her lips.
It was one of the random things she tended to buy that she did not end up regretting, throwing it out, or discarding it. It was always by her dresser and it was her go-to lipstick except she did not want to wear makeup or she was in the mood for something else.
She smacked her lips together as she applied the final touches of powder to her makeup. Satisfied, she picked a gold necklace, it was not anything extravagant, just a tiny chain and a beautiful pendant. She did not know how long this piece of jewelry had been in her family but she knew it used to be her mother's.
She put the jewelry around her neck, not exactly her neck and she had on a sleeveless turtleneck top. She then put on the matching earrings that were a smaller version of the pendant which were just the right size as she hated heavy jewelry. Big she could stand but heavy was a no-no.
Besides, all the big earrings she wore were usually in circular shapes with a big hole in them. There wasn't anything hole in this but it was small and light to wear so it ended up being her favorite jewelry set to wear.
She took one last look at her reflection, making sure that nothing from her shoulders to the top of her head was out of place. She would definitely look at the mirror again before she stepped out of her room but she would not be looking at her face this time. She stood up and slowly made her way to the wardrobe.
