Selene woke up with a start. The headache that hit her was hard like she had been smacked across her face. She groaned, shaking her head as she woke up. It was a big mistake that she regretted instantly and she immediately forced her head to stop moving.
The next feeling she got was that she could not feel most parts of her body. Her neck was one of them and this was from angling weirdly on the edge of the bathtub. She frowned at this wondering how she could feel her headache so severely but somehow could not feel her neck.
Her left arm which was over the bathtub and almost touching the ground had zero to no sensation in them. Her legs too, which were awkwardly bent, were pretty much in the same state.
The only good thing that she noticed was the pain of the wound had eased and she knew why her head was hurting so much. The wound had not closed much however but there was no denying that the healing process had started.
She needed to move but the idea was so distraught that a huge part of her just wanted to remain where she was but she did not need anyone to tell her that was likely to worsen her situation which was not a good idea.
She closed her eyes tightly as she asked for strength from the forces. She opened her eyes and gently lifted her back off the tub, she wanted to jerk upright but she knew if she fell back she would not move again.
Thankfully, her body obeyed and she was seated upright in no time. She did not want to stay in that position for too long for fear that she would lean back and return to sleep. However, getting out of the tub was proving to be harder than she envisioned it.
She swallowed and tried again and this time her legs moved as she literally threw them out of the tub and rolled out of the tub. She landed with a thud, bracing her fall with her hand.
She was glad she had forced herself to the bath because her bedroom was just outside the door and heaven knew she needed a dosage right now if not two. She crawled on the ground, pulling herself with her elbows. Her head felt like it was about to split in two.
She did not stop and slowly and steadily made it to the side of her bed. The bed was not her aim but rather her drawers that were right next to it.
She got close enough and stretched her hand out. She did not even think about it as she pulled the contents down, grateful that she had rearranged it after the first incident. What she needed was sure to be in there; she had placed it there herself.
It made a mess of course but she found what she was looking for and without much ado proceeded to stab herself. Selene dug her nails into her body as she felt the dosage begin to do its work. Her eyes closed tightly and her body jerked a little. She stopped shaking with an exhale.
That was a mild reaction considering how much blood she had lost during the ordeal but she figured the assailant's blood that she had drunk also helped. Her headache ceased almost instantly but she still felt crappy.
After solving a problem she realized there was always one after it and now the last problem before her was getting onto the bed. This was a venture that looked like it would take a miracle for it to happen.
She looked at the bed and then the floor where she was lying down. The distance was at least two feet. She rolled her eyes as she prepared herself for the movement, she did not want to but she knew it was better she be comfortable, she could heal properly then and faster too.
Placing her palms on the bed she pushed herself upwards, lifting her body off the ground in one go as she shifted her weight from the full length of her body to her legs. They shook at the sudden weight and she knew she would fall.
She only had a few seconds but she angled herself in such a way that she was sure to land on the bed no matter what. Her torso was the only part that made contact but it was more than enough. She threw the rest of her body that didn't make it, which was just her legs onto the bed.
As soon as she was comfortable her body immediately went into a hibernation mood and she blacked out, locking every single thing out. She knew she needed every amount of rest she could get and she intended on taking it.
Selene woke up slowly, her senses gradually taking note of her environment. Her eyes were the last part to open and as soon as she opened it, she closed it immediately. The brightness of the room was more than enough to give her a migraine.
She tried again, knowing the light was not going to get any better and she would have to stand to her feet for it to do so. She made sure to go, slowly giving her eyes time to adjust before she flung them open.
This time around she did not flinch but rather her eyes remained open as she took in her environment. For a room that she had spent the last three years in, it felt very strange. She sat upright and her body obeyed even though a horrible headache came in full force almost immediately.
The room spun and she gripped the sheets to avoid falling back onto the bed. She sat on the bed for a while before stretching downwards for another dosage. Blood would heal her faster but it probably won't speed up the process as much as she wanted.
If she had followed the right process and gone to the hospital where they would have used the right tools to do a clean operation she would not be in this intense pain right. She was certain that she would be completely healed by the next day.
However, it was a nasty job that she was afraid a week might not be enough. She groaned, she was sure she could handle the pain if she did not have to go anywhere but she did ask Mr. Bennett to set up a meeting.
Her outstretched hand held the dosage and she wasted no time in stabbing her leg. She did not shake as the serum made its way to her bloodstream. She remained seated for about another two minutes before forcing herself out of bed.
She needed to eat, blood was not nearly enough and she could tell. Her stomach was screaming for something, anything and she knew if she fed it the foam of her bed it was likely to accept it.
She started with her legs, gradually pushing them to the edge of the bed and when they were close enough to touch the ground she stood on them. She staggered, gripping the edge of the bed for support as she waddled.
She bent forward, giving herself a clear view of her injury. It was just a gaping hole with some congealed blood but other than that it was remotely clean. She did not need anyone to tell her she could not leave the hole as it was and that it was better to cover it up.
However, she did not have any bandage or anything else that could suffice which meant she had to drive out to go buy them. The thought made her want to return to bed but the food was vital and if she wanted to heal fast enough she needed to move now.
Certain that she would not fall if she took a step, she took it. She gripped the bed, of course, falling meant starting all over again. It was very hard to lift herself; she would probably just remain on the floor where she fell.
Slowly and steadily, she began her treacherous walk to the kitchen. No sooner did she take the fourth step that the thought that there was probably nothing she could eat in the kitchen, hit her. However, she was still hopeful that she would find something to eat.
She was shirtless and still had on her bloody shorts which meant of course the bed was stained with blood. She would clean that up later but right now food came first.
She got to the door that led out and it was wide open from when she stumbled in last night. There were bloodstains everywhere and on the door but the worst that could happen is if she got a visitor otherwise this was a mess that she could handle. The problem was the longer it took her to clean it up the drier it would get and harder too.
