“Princess Selene Valak,” she heard someone say, introducing her as soon as her back rested on the seat. She recognized the voice instantly, he was who you will call her father’s manager but rather than a corporate business he ran the affairs of the vampires under her father. He was what one would call her father’s right-hand man.
Athan was his name, he was one of the Nobles. She hated his guts and did not know why but funny enough the feeling went both ways. He was always indifferent about things that concerned her and even now as he said her name, he said it in the most unflattering way ever and she felt herself wince.
She turned to look at him and their eyes met, she made sure he could see the annoyance in their eyes. Of course, he had ignored her and turned away immediately. However, she did not look away immediately and hoped she made him slightly uncomfortable.
It was not that there was anything wrong with Athan but the two of them just never saw eye to eye and were often at loggerheads with each other. He was annoyed that she always wanted things to go her way and she was annoyed that he wanted to always have a say in her life.
It was funny that when she was a child she had been in awe of him and had maybe had a bit of a crush on him and who would not? Athan was at least two hundred and thirty something, and he still turned heads. The streaks of silver on his head glimmered and it did not help that he had a pretty face and a killer smile. He was also the right height and had the perfect size of muscles, not too much and certainly not too small.
There was also the annoying fact that the older he got, the prettier he looked. He definitely put the D in DILF. anyways that's what she thought when she was younger, now she just found him to be an annoying old man who never minded his business even though that was not true and he only chipped in his opinion when it concerned vampires and she was a vampire.
The point is, he just tended to rub her the wrong way and annoyed her very quickly and he knew this. A part of her actually thinks he does this on purpose and of course she has had more than enough reason to think so.
She had also heard that he had wanted her mother and he would have gotten her if the Primus, her father, had not gotten into the picture and whisked her mother off her feet. She would not blame her mother for choosing her father because aside from the enticing title of being the Primus’ wife, her father was pretty charming and there was no doubt that he had loved her mother dearly except now of course that he wanted to shake hands with the people that had been the cause of her death.
