5 minutes earlier...
While Ryder and Dexter got out of the car and waited for their Alpha to come out, Jayden didn't know how to get out of the situation he was trapped in, as Muna's hands were still wrapped tightly around his arm, with her head and body leaning against him for support.
His angry side was telling him to wake her up so she could leave his side or push her away violently. But his Wolf side liked the feeling of their mate's soft body and the sparks they felt whenever their bodies touched. It purred in delight.
Jayden decided to listen to his Wolf side, as he wanted to be nice to his mate. However, his angry side was stronger than his sane self, but he tried his best to overcome it.
Seeing her peaceful face, he wanted her to continue lying against his body, but he had to get out of the car. He thought of calling Dexter to carry her out, but his Wolf immediately rejected the idea. A feeling of jealousy washed over him instantly, and he frowned when he remembered how close she was to Dexter compared to him. So, he decided to carry her out himself.
He slowly opened the door and gently turned to face her. He put one hand under her legs and the other behind her back, then quietly lifted her out of the car so she wouldn't wake up and see their position.
When he got out of the car with his mate cradled in his arms, he was met with the shocked faces of his Beta, Gamma, and warriors. He couldn't blame them, as it was something he had never done before.
He had never carried a woman before, not even Klara. His mate was the first.
Ignoring their stares, he walked towards the entrance, where his brother was waiting for him with his hands behind his back. Beside him stood his Beta, Xander, and his Gamma, Roland.
Ryder and Dexter followed Jayden as he approached Kayden, while the warriors left for the guest rooms in the estate. Some of them also went over to guard the mansion.
As soon as Kayden saw Jayden approaching, he began walking towards him. However, he noticed that his brother was carrying someone in his arms, and he frowned slightly.
A woman?
He had never known his brother to carry anyone before, especially a woman.
“Jayden,” Kayden said.
“Hello, brother,” Jayden replied.
Kayden walked closer to him and scrutinized the girl in his arms.
“Who is this?” he asked.
Jayden sighed.
He knew his brother wouldn't let him go until he answered his question. Otherwise, he would keep bothering him until he got pissed off.
“She's my mate,” he said curtly.
There was silence for a while as Kayden processed the words he had just heard. Xander and Roland were also shocked by Jayden's words.
They knew how much Jayden detested humans and how he had sworn never to have a human mate by his side, even after the curse placed on them by Sierra, the Moon Goddess. Now, seeing him carrying a human girl who was fast asleep in his arms and claiming her as his mate surprised them. However, their surprise didn't show on their handsome faces.
At first glance, Kayden had thought it was just a random girl Jayden was carrying because he knew his brother could never carry Klara in his arms like that.
Seeing that Kayden wasn't saying anything, Jayden moved past him.
“I'm tired, and I need to get some rest. See you tomorrow morning,” he said as he entered the mansion, with Ryder and Dexter following behind him.
Kayden remained standing in the same spot without saying anything. He stared at the sky, which was filled with countless stars, and inhaled and exhaled deeply.
So Jayden finally accepted his mate, he said to himself.
“Alpha.”
Xander's voice pulled him out of his thoughts, but he didn't turn to look at his Beta.
Seeing that Kayden didn't say anything, Xander took his silence as permission to continue.
“Is it true that the girl Alpha Jayden carried inside just now is his mate, as he said?” he asked.
“Jayden wouldn't lie about something like that,” Kayden replied after a while.
“But he didn't say anything about finding his mate. Or could it be that he just picked up a random human girl and called her his mate?” Roland, his Gamma, asked.
Kayden turned around to look at him with narrowed eyes, and Roland immediately lowered his head, knowing he had said something he wasn't supposed to.
Kayden left where he stood and walked towards him until he was only a step away. Xander mentally slapped his forehead and shook his head.
“Alpha, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that,” Roland said.
“Jayden is my brother, and I know him very well. He can't just pick any random girl, especially a human, and call her his mate. So be careful about what you say next time, now that he's around. The walls have ears, and you know how short-tempered he is,” Kayden said before walking past him.
Roland breathed a sigh of relief, but then he heard Kayden say something else before entering the mansion.
“He won't hesitate to tear you apart.”
When only the two of them and the warriors remained outside, Xander crossed his arms over his chest and glared at the Gamma for spouting nonsense about Jayden in front of their Alpha.
“What? Hey, I know what I said,” Roland replied.
“Your mouth will get you into trouble one day,” Xander said, and Roland smirked.
“If that girl is truly Alpha Jayden's mate, then I'm happy for Luna Hazel because she will finally have a human girl like her as a friend,” Roland said.
“Hmm,” Xander hummed. “Tomorrow, Alpha will confirm it with him, and then we'll finally know the truth. Or maybe I'll just ask Ryder about it.”
“Come on, I'm still surprised about this. I mean, Alpha Jayden said the girl was his mate. I wonder how pretty she must be for him to carry her that way,” Roland said, holding his chin.
Xander rolled his eyes.
“You know what? I'm going to bed before Alpha Jayden hears us talking about his mate and comes to attack me. So, good night,” Xander said and began walking towards the door.
When he noticed that Roland wasn't following him, he turned around and asked, “Aren't you coming?”
“Nah, you go ahead. I'll come in later. Good night,” Roland replied.
“Whatever,” Xander said before entering the mansion.

Kayden entered his room and found his mate sleeping on the bed, with her chestnut-brown hair sprawled all over her face as she breathed softly.
He smiled as he got into bed and pulled her close to his body. He heard her moan softly when he pushed her hair away from her face so he could see her beautiful features under the bright moonlight coming through the open floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
His beautiful mate was the happiest thing that had ever happened to him in his entire life.
Just like Jayden, he had also detested humans. But when he met his mate, his life changed forever.
He learned to love her, and she loved him just as much as he loved her. He had never dreamed of hurting even a single hair on her head or raising his hands to hit her. He could never get angry with her, even when she made him angry.
He treated her with love and care. He treated her like an egg, as though she could break if he handled her harshly or roughly. She usually got angry at him for treating her like she was some kind of weak girl.
Yes, it was true that humans, her kind, were the weakest of all creatures, but that didn't mean she was a weak person.
Kayden would only laugh at her cute face whenever she pouted her lips and crossed her arms over her chest. He would then caress her cheek softly and peck her lips, and they would both feel the spark before laughing together.
He looked at the moon shining brightly in the dark sky and smiled inwardly, as if he were communicating silently with the Moon Goddess.
He then looked back at his mate's peaceful face and caressed her cheek. She moaned softly again, as she always reacted to his touch, mostly because of the sparks they felt whenever their bodies touched.
After watching her for a while, he finally rested his head on the pillow, wrapped his arm securely around her waist, and closed his eyes to sleep.

Meanwhile, Jayden entered one of the guest rooms and walked towards the bed to lay Muna down so she could sleep comfortably. However, Muna only held his neck tighter as she snuggled deeper into his embrace.
Jayden knew it was because of the sparks she was feeling, which was why she was still holding on to him.
The spark gave a feeling of serene calmness throughout the body, and it was also kind of ticklish.
He tried to pull her hands away from his neck, but her grip was so tight that he didn't know what to do anymore.
Then, he suddenly heard her speak again.
“Mommy, please don't go. Let me continue to hold you like this,” she said.
His eyes widened slightly when he heard her words.
Was she thinking he was her mother?
Was that why she was still holding him like this?
Having no other choice, he got into the bed and lay down with her, allowing her to hug him. This was actually the first time he had ever lain on a bed with her this close to him.
He then felt her rest her head on his chest, as though she were aware of what she was doing, but she was deeply asleep.
He observed her closely and realized how beautiful she was.
Her round face was beautiful and perfect. Her lashes were long and thick as they rested on her cheeks. Her hair was scattered all over her face and his chest.
He raised his hand to move her hair away from her face without even realizing what he was doing. It was as if his Wolf side had taken over him again.
He pushed her hair away from her face and began caressing her cheek, which felt so soft under his touch. He enjoyed the spark he felt and unknowingly allowed a small smile to form on his lips.
He then began tracing her cheek down to her jawline before holding her chin. His bright yellow eyes fell on her full, cherry-blossom lips, and he didn't know when he began running his thumb over her lower lip slowly, as though observing it.
Her lips were so soft under his touch. He felt like kissing her and finding out what they tasted like.
He didn't even realize when he started leaning closer to kiss her. But then, it was as if a bucket of ice-cold water had been poured over him. He immediately came to his senses and realized the position he was in.
He quickly backed away from her as if he had been electrocuted.
He could feel his heart beating so fast against his rib cage, as though it wanted to burst out of his chest.
He couldn't believe he had almost kissed her just now.
What was he thinking?
This was a really bad idea. He shouldn't have lain on the bed with her.
He stared back at the girl in his arms. She was the first and only girl who had ever made him feel this way.
Was he really falling for her now?
He had sworn never to fall in love with her, but now he couldn't understand what was happening to him anymore.
Ever since he had released her from the basement, he hadn't been himself, and now things were getting worse as the days went by.
Seeing that her hands were loosely hanging around his neck, Jayden took that as an opportunity to escape from her grip.
He quickly got out of bed, turned off the lights, and left the room without turning back to look at her.

Muna stirred awake when the bright sunlight flashed through her eyes. She turned to face the other side and slowly opened her eyes. She yawned as she sat up on the bed, stretching her body and feeling her bones crack and her muscles stretch.
She then noticed that her surroundings were different as she looked around the strange, spacious room.
Where was she?
How did she get here and end up on this bed?
Was it Dexter?
It must be him.
Muna remembered that yesterday, after talking with her friends on the phone through a video call, she had decided to ask Dexter if Jayden had a brother.
However, she hadn't seen him throughout the day until the evening. Even then, she hadn't gotten the chance to ask him anything because Ryder had come to tell her to prepare herself and pack a few of her things, as they were going to visit someone important. Then he left.
She immediately packed her things, wore ripped jeans and an oversized hoodie, and made sure to put her phone on silent before keeping it securely in her pocket.
When she got outside, where the cars were parked in the garage, she put her luggage in the boot and entered through the back door of the car where Jayden was sitting.
She sat down and closed the door. As usual, she sat close to the door, giving them enough space in the middle.
Neither she nor Jayden said anything throughout the journey. She didn't know where she was going or who they were going to see.
It wasn't until it got dark that she fell asleep. That was when Jayden turned to look at her and found her sleeping in an uncomfortable position. However, he turned away from her and continued looking outside the window as though he didn't care.
But his Wolf wasn't pleased with him. It whined and clawed at his chest until he finally turned back to look at her.
After a few seconds, he moved a little closer to her and helped her rest her head on his shoulder in a comfortable position.
He had wanted to rest her head on his lap, but in the end, he let her sleep on his shoulder.
Muna then remembered the dream she had about her parents while they were dying after being brutally clawed by the werewolves.
Her father had suffered more wounds than her mother because he had shielded her when they were being attacked.
He had lost a lot of blood and died before her mother.
The deaths of her parents replayed in her dream, and she cried without realizing that she was also crying physically in the car.
She remembered her mother's slow breathing, half-closed eyes, and weak smile. She had cried, begging her mother not to leave her the way her father had.
Her mother had held her face and told her that she wasn't going to leave her and that she would always be by her side.
At that moment, her Aunt Evelyn had come into the picture and hugged her as she sobbed.
With her last dying breaths, her mother had told her sister never to let Muna fall into the hands of the werewolves.
Muna immediately felt sad again as the memories of her dream replayed in her head after she woke up.
Tears fell from her eyes.
“I miss you, Mom and Dad,” she said as she sniffed.
A familiar scent suddenly wafted into her nostrils.
A scent that belonged to only one particular person.
None other than Jayden.
Her eyes widened in shock as a sudden thought entered her head.
Was he the one who had carried her into the room?
