It was the end of the summer. Sandy and I were at Blue Moon Camp.
I was looking for Sandy. As I looked for her I realized that everyone was happy. I thought, why is everyone so happy when this is a sad day… Everyone is leaving.
After a while of looking for Sandy, I finally found her and some other girls surrounding a boy, who I recognized named Liam Greenwood. Liam was very popular and always got girls’ attention including Sandy. As I watched her, one of my friends, Rachel walked up to my side.
She says, “I know who you’re looking at.”
I say, instead of answering, “do you see the pair of short shorts she’s wearing? They show half her butt. And look at her top it shows almost all her boobs.”
Rachel laughed saying, “You’re jealous of your twin sister aren't you?”
I roll my eyes saying, “No.”

As I watched Sandy, I saw her leave Liam and start walking into the woods with another boy, who I also recognized named Emmett who is Liam’s cousin. I ran after her leaving Rachel behind.
Once I finally get her to stop walking I ask, “Have you started packing up your clothes, because dad’s probably going to be here at the crack of dawn tomorrow?”
She answered, “No, but I’ll do it later.” rudely, Emmett's arm around her shoulders.
“Well if you need any help I can help you?”
Sandy answered rudely, “I said I’ll do it later.”
I answered sadly, “Sorry I just asked.”
Emmett asked to distract me from getting into a fight with Sandy, “Hey, are you going to the midnight party?”
Answering, “I don’t know?” Honestly I was thinking about going but I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to. The midnight party was supposed to be a bone fire for all the junior and junior and senior counselors, to have one last hara of fun. There will probably be drinking there.
Emmett said, “Well, the party is for all of the junior and senior counselors.”
“I might be there but... I don’t know?”
I turn around and walk away.

After a while I went back to my cabin.

At the end of the party, I was going back to my cabin.
I was walking through the woods when Liam came out from behind a tree.
“Woah , Liam!” I said, almost running into him.
He said, “I’ve been looking all over for you.” calmly.
I say, “You… have?” confused.
“Yes… would you like to go for a walk by the lake with me?”
Without thinking I say, “Sure.”
As we walked through the woods, Liam said, “Why don’t we pretend that it isn’t the end of the summer… Ok.”

When we got to the grassy shore of the lake, Liam said, “Why don’t we sit down.”
We sat down.
After a while of just silence I ask, “You’ve brought almost every other girl down here, How am I any different?”
“You just are?”
“But still how am I any different than the other girls?”
“Because I’ve wanted to bring you down here all summer but every time I went to ask you, you were in your cabin.”

After another long silence I ask, “Can I ask you a question?”
“Sure.”
“You have to tell me the truth… Ok.”
“Ok.”
“Alright… What are you… I know you aren’t just a human… Because I’ve seen you at night… you hunt out here in the woods… Are… you… a… vampire?... Tell me are… you?”
Instead of answering, Liam asked, “Shawna… Do you even believe in vampires?”
“Um… I don’t know… should I?”
“Yes… because I am one.”
I asked a little scared, not showing it, “What do you want from me?” looking up at him.
He answered, “I want you to be like me.”
I ask, “Why do you want me like you? I'm just a girl who isn’t even pretty?” confused.
He answered, “because... Shawna… I love you. From the moment I laid my eyes on you for the first time I fell in love with you. It’s hard to explain...”
I was shocked. I was about to say something smart assy, but then Liam leaned down and kissed me.
After we let go Liam looks at me, saying, “I know I don’t know you very well and you don’t know me very well but if you're like me we can get to know each other better and I promise I will never let anything happen to you. I promise Shawna.”
I look at Liam as I go to protest, he says, “Shawna you are literally the only one I have asked to change. Everyone I have brought down here I have just fed on and then made them forget what I did and made them like we sat by the lake and talked. Shawna I swear I will never hurt you or leave you.”
I sigh, saying, “Ok.”
Liam smiles, kissing me then he leans down like he was going to give me a kiss on the neck but instead I felt something like a bee stung my neck.
I could feel Liam doing something to my neck.
When he lifted his head I saw sharp like dagger things in his mouth and his eyes silverish blue. I knew what he was but until I saw it with my own eyes I don’t think I believed it until now.
Bringing his wrist to his mouth making a slashing motion with his fangs against his wrist. Then he brought it to my mouth.
When I refused it he said, “It will help and if you don't you can die from the lack of blood.”
He brought it closer to my mouth as I put my lips to his wrist.

When I pushed his wrist away I asked, “What now?” very weak.
He answered, “You go to sleep.
I leaned up against his chest and said, “I love you.” Weakly half asleep.
Liam whispered, “I love you too.” Kissing me lightly on the forehead.
He picked me up into his arms standing up and walking to my cabin.
After putting me on my cot, he was walking out when he almost ran into Sandy.
She asked, “Liam?… What are you doing here?”
He answered, “I was putting Shawna to bed. She fell asleep while we were sitting by the lake.”
She said, “Oh… Well I need to talk to her.”

After arguing for a while Liam said, “Sandy, why don’t you just go to bed.” sounding tired.

After giving up Sandy went back to her cabin.
After she left Liam went back into my cabin he walked up to me and kissed me on my forehead.
Then he left and went back to his cabin.
