The Dangerous Sisters

Chapter 2

In the morning Sandy came into my cabin and said, “Shawna time to get up, dad’s here.”

I woke up startled saying, “I’m up… I’m up.” turning toward the wall.

Sandy left my cabin rolling her eyes.

After she left I turned back the other way. Sighing I got out of bed and went over to my suitcase, opening it and grabbing clothes and walking into the bathroom.

Looking in the mirror I drop my clothes and back up away from the mirror almost falling into the tub.

I walked back over to the mirror examining my eyes which were silverish green.

After getting dressed, I went outside, the sun was up and my dad, Charlie was loading the trunk with Sandy’s three suitcases.

He looked so tired from working all the time as I watched him turn to grab the third suitcase turning back around and putting it into the trunk.

I roll my one suitcase to him as he turns and give me a hug as I tense.

He asks, “How was your summer?” smiling, not noticing my tenchen.

I answered, “It was good.” fake smiling.

After getting everything in the trunk Sandy, Dusty, our 5 year old brother, dad and I, taking a deep breath climbing into the car.

After a long silence dad asked, “Where do you girls want to eat?”

Sandy and I exchanged glances and said simultaneously, “Donkey Doo Little’s.” Then we all laughed.

After arriving at Donkey Doo Little’s they walked into the restaurant.

And finding a spot, which was one of the empty booths in the corner.

The waitress ordered our food. I ordered a raw cheese burger and some curly fries.

When I asked for a raw cheese burger the waitress, my dad, sister and Dusty all looked at me with disgusting faces, then the waitress asked, “You want a raw cheese burger.” looking at me concerned.

I answered, “Yes, please.”

After the waitress ordered Sandy, Dusty and Charlie’s food she left.

After we ate our food we left.

When we got home Sandy and I went to our room upstairs and unpacked our clothes.

After we got done we sat on the bed not talking.

While we sat beside each other we heard someone coming up the stairs and then we heard the person say, “I have come to drink your blood.”

Sandy and I exchanged scared glances and ran to the stairs looking over the edge of the balcony.

When we see Ash, one of our friends, he laughs at our faces.

Sandy and I say, “Ash!” glaring at him.

Ash came the rest of the way up the stairs still laughing.

We gave him hugs.

When Sandy’s phone goes off we are sitting on the bed talking.

Sandy gets up and grabs her phone off the bedside table. She pushes the talk button saying, “Hi Ashley.”

After she listens to the person on the other end she says, “Yeah come on up…” then she hangs up.

I ask, “Who’s all here?”

Sandy answered, “Everyone.”

When everyone comes up the stairs and into the room.

After giving everyone hugs we sat on the beds as Ash put in his favorite movie series The Vampire Twins season 4 episode 16 the new one. I reached over and turn out the lights.

As the movie started there were some teenagers running from a shadowed figure. When the figure caught one of the teenagers it sank it’s fake looking fangs into his neck. Fake blood ran down the side of the teenager’s neck and onto the ground.

When I saw the blood I tensed and all of a sudden I felt something poke into my gums in my mouth.

I say quietly, scared to speak, “I’m going to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back.”

Ash asked, “Do you want me to pause the movie?” about to turn on the light.

I say knowing what my friends would see if he turned on the light they’d see the monster I saw in the mirror, “Don’t turn on the light… And… You don’t have to pause the movie. I’ll just be right back” walking out the dark room before he could turn on the light.

I walk into the bathroom breathing hard turning on the light.

I go over to the sink not looking in the mirror afraid to see the monster that I’ve become.

I close my eyes then facing the mirror I open them, my eyes like I expected were silverish green.

I sigh trying to calm my breathing.

I grab a cup out of the medicine cabinet.

I feel it up with water and bring it to my mouth to take a drink, then dropping the cup, my eyes going wide as the cup falls into the sink, I go closer to the mirror examining my dagger like canines. I rub my tongue over them.

After a while of just standing in front of the mirror and looking at my new self. There’s a knock on the door.

Knock, knock, knock.

I stiffen saying, “I’m in here.” Walking over to the door leaning on it.

I could tell it was Sandy. I closed my eyes because I could smell her blood running through her veins.

She tried opening the door.

I pushed harder onto the door saying, “No don’t come in.” opening my eyes as they go wide.

She pushed harder on the door, saying, “Let me in.”

I whispered, knowing she probably couldn’t hear me, “Sandy please don’t come in here.”

She pushed harder on the door, saying, “Come on Shawna let me in.”

I punch the door to make her go away but instead the next thing we knew the door was split in half, half was still in the hinges the other half had fallen into the bathroom. As I jumped out of the way of the door Sandy had wide eyes as I did, but Sandy was just staring at me when I realized that my mouth had fallen open in shock.

She started to back up then she turned around and ran to the top of the stairs.

My hunting instincts kicked in as I followed her.

She went to go down the stairs yelping as I pulled her back.

She was on the ground as I climbed on top crouching over her holding her down.

I growled her eyes going wide baring my canines.

Our friends, our little brother and our dad coming up the stairs came running to where we were because of the big bang that echoed through the house.

They all had wide eyes when they saw me.

I growled, showing my canines acting like a wild animal.

Sandy was gasping for breath like she was having problems breathing, like she was being choked to death.

When I looked down my instincts going away I realized that my hand was around her neck.

I quickly let go of her and ran away past my friends, my little brother and my dad, across the long hall. When I stopped I was against the wall crouching.

Everyone still had wide eyes.

One of my friends, Rose, started slowly walking closer to me.

My eyes went wide as he walked closer. I scoot closer against the wall.

I growled softly, whispering, “Rose… don’t… I… I don’t want to hurt you.”

He keeps walking slowly, whispering, “I know you won’t hurt me.” Afraid to scare me.

I just look at him.

As he walked up to my side squatting I tense as he put his hand on my hand as he held his other wrist to me, I just look at him like he was stupid, when he saw my look he said, “Drink… You’re hungry.” Eyes sad.

Ash, who was just staring like he was dead and dumbfounded, came back to life saying, yelling ecstatically, “Rose what the hell are you doing she’s a monster.” Running up to Rose and pulling him away, who stood up and got into Ash’s face saying, “She's not a monster she’s our friend.” mad.

Ash just looked at his best friend saying, “What the hell are you talking about? She is a fucken vampire. Who just tried to kill her own sister.” Like he was stupid.

Rose, pissed off now pushed his best friend away saying, “Don’t you ever call her a monster because she’s not. She’s only hungry.” He pushed his left sleeve up to his elbow, turning back to me and squatting in front of me holding out his arm saying, “Go ahead.” watching me as his short red hair fell a little into his eyes.

I look at him scared, asking, “Are you sure?” sad and upset.

He nodded his head, smiling a sad smile.

I took his arm in my hands then bit into the skin as the fresh blood flowed into my mouth.

I close my eyes as the liquefied life goes into my mouth and down my throat.

When I open my eyes again I see Rose growing weak so I let go of his wrist and push it away fast.

As he crumples to the ground his eyes go shut.

Ash runs back to him and pulls him away, kneeling down and feeling his faint pulse.

I just look at him sad.

The rest of my friends and family walk up to Rose and Ash.

Ash just glares at me.

I come closer to Rose as Ash looks at me saying, “Get away. You monster.”

Rose says, opening his eyes, saying weakly, “She’s not a monster.”

I say, “Yes I am… Rose I just fed off you and you’re my friend. And you still think I’m not a monster.” sadly my fangs still elongated.

Rose looked at me sadly, saying weakly, “You were hungry you couldn’t help it.”

Ash looked at his best friend like he was stupid saying, “Yes she could… do you not understand that?”

Rose looked at his best friend mad but too weak to yell or look to mad saying, “You know what f**k you she couldn’t help it.”

Ash looked at his best friend saying, “Rose… do you not understand that she could have killed you.”

Rose looked at him saying, “But she didn’t and yes I do realize that. Anyway, whether or not you were listening I told her to.”

Ash just rolled his eyes.

Rose’s breathing was very weak now.

I scoot closer grabbing his wrist feeling his pulse was weak but still beating but also not getting any better.

I looked at him then Ash who was watching me scared.

I let go of Rose then standing up I ran to the bedroom and grabbed my cell phone dialing Liam’s number bringing it to my ear and listening.

Ring, Ring, Ring…

Liam said, on the other end of the phone, “Hello?”

I say, “Liam… It’s Shawna… I… I need your help…” upset.

Liam said worriedly, “What’s wrong?”

I answer by asking, “Can you come to my house?”

Liam answered, “Yeah… Where do you live?”

After I explained we hung up.

A few seconds later there’s a knock on the door.

Knock, knock, knock…

When I open the door it's Liam and his cousin Emmett.

After they came in Liam shut the door behind them, his cousin running up the stairs to Sandy’s side and Liam coming in front of me asked, “What’s wrong Shawna?” He looks at me then sees my eyes and canines he understands and asks, “Where?” grabbing me, hugging me.

I turn my head looking up at the people watching on the stairs.

Liam and I both run up the stairs.

We walk up to Rose.

Liam grabbed his wrist feeling his pulse.

Liam looked at me not saying anything, his eyes going silverish blue and his canines elongating as he brought his wrist to his mouth making a slashing motion with his teeth on his wrist.

He brings it to Rose’s mouth saying, “Here it’ll help.”

Rose just looked at him turning his head asking very weakly, “Who are you? And why should I?”

Instead of liam answering, I say, “Rose please just do it… I drank too much… please if you don’t you’ll die.” I look at him sadly.

He looked at my sad face sadly then said, “I don’t need it. I’m fine.”

Liam looked at Rose frustrated, saying, “Oh my god you stubborn ass fucken human… If you don’t drink you’ll die.”

Rose just glared at him then looked at Ash saying, “Take me to the hospital.” weakly then turning back to Liam glaring at him saying, “I may be a stubborn ass human but I don’t want to be a vampire.”

After Ash and my dad carrying Rose left.

Sandy and our friends look at me scared.

* * * * *

Liam and I decide to go to the garage.

We sit on the couch against the wall at the other end of the garage.

* * * * *

The next thing we know we’re kissing.

* * * * *

When we let go of each other about 2 hours later it’s because there’s a knock on the door.

Knock, knock, knock.

We look up at the door, it's my dad, we exchange glances and quickly get dressed then sit back on the couch.

I say, “Come on in.” I curl back up against Liam’s chest

Charlie walks in and sees me and then says, “Rose… Will live but you drank a lot of his blood and he’s lucky to be alive… We told the doctors that he cut open his arm on a barbed wire fence and it was bleeding a lot… He has to stay overnight though.”

I start crying Liam putting his arms around me pulling me into him as he hugged me.

Charlie walks up to me and puts a hand on me saying, “It’s alright.”

After about a few hours of just talking and joking to make me happy which didn’t work James and Charlie give up, as Charlie says, “Well I’m going to go back into the house and go to bed, you guys don’t stay up too long, ok.”

Liam says, “ok.”

After we let go of each other we fell asleep.
