Chapter 2: Amazingly surprised

After Kam’s promotion to R3, they organized and performed several rallies, they had such a great time.

As Hattori has the bigger War congress, he was the leader in all the rallies, they laughed at Kam for being a noob, they made some jokes about her, and she always had a clever comeback.

That was an amazing time that followed Kam’s promotion, she felt overjoyed by the treatment most of the guys were giving her, they were like actual friends to her.

They finished their rallies, and they said their goodbyes, some people went to sleep, for her, it was pretty late, around 3 am, but the good thing was it was a Saturday night, but for others it was lunch time.

Usually when she logs in the game several guys calls her by her nickname just to say hi to her, that is so nice, so she usually says hi to the person that called her and says hi to everyone, even to those that are there but do not talk at all or do not participate in the chat, a couple of them talk to her, but when someone else joins the chat they kind of disappear in the background.

She usually joins rallies with Math, he is her night shift rally buddy, so he leads the rallies and tells her what type of troops to send and what to do.

They usually win the rallies, several people join them, but it is usually Kam who asks Math to help her rally, she is really bad at that, and he always does it, for her and he is great at calculating how many people they need to win the rally or if they will win or lose each attack. He is 99.9999% of the time right on his numbers, now his nickname makes total sense to her, he loves math.

So if he says they need one million troops, Kam gets into action and starts asking people on the chat to join them, she asks kindly and usually people join them, if she sees no one joined or not enough players joined and they need more people, she goes through the online list of players and starts calling them by their nickname, asking one by one to join, they usually do, she is so persistent and yet so cute when she asks, practically no one can say no to her, she feels she is getting so spoiled by most of them.

Next day, she found herself talking in the chat with Hattori, he asked who was online and could help him with some rallies.

She told him she was free, that she had lots of free time and that she could help him as long as he needed her.

Other players joined the rallies, but she was the one, continuously asking him for instructions, type of troops and minimum number of troops needed to win.

She started doing what she does when she rallies with Math, she started texting on the chat, asking specific individuals to join and all the rallies Hattori launched were successfully performed and won.

They finished and he said ‘goodbye’ to her.

That same situation happened several times with Hattori or Math being the leaders for the rallies, so they were the go to experts she knew she could ask them for information, mostly Math, but Hattori responded her several times a bit less harshly, so she thought it was getting nicer with her.

One Saturday afternoon, she was talking on the app with the General, KindKiller, who turned out to be a 15 year old high school boy from China, she was amazed by that, he is just a kid, she thought, but he has done a decent job so far.

His real name was Liu Jing, and he asked her to call him Jing.

At the game everybody called him killer, boss or general, so it was weird that he trusted her with his real name and some of his personal information.

She also took the opportunity to ask him why he asked her to join them in the high rank officials chat room a few days ago.

He told her:

-I have seen that you are pretty active on the guild, nice to everybody and several people like you and always help you, so even when you have been with us for just a little time, I think you have great potential with us.

-Wow thanks

-As a matter of fact, I talked to Hatorri and we both agreed when he suggested me about promoting you to R3

-Seriously? That is great, but what would I need to do as R3? you know I am new in this type of game

-Just keep doing what you are doing, talking and having a great time on the chat, that creates a good environment for everybody, even those that don’t talk.

-In that case, it is an honor :D

While she was talking with Killer on the guild chat, she received a help notification from Hattori.

Knowing that Killer asked Hattori about her, and they both agreed to promote her made her feel like thanking Hattori, she hesitated because he is usually harsh and not into talking with virtually no one, but she just kept thinking of sending a private ‘thank you’ text to him.

She entered the chat app and when she was about to text Hattori, she saw that Hattori just changed his profile picture, it used to be an analogue clock with red numbers, you know the type, those alarm clocks that looks like dark brown or black with the time on red square type of calculator numbers and now it was a beautiful pool and, in the background, the most gorgeous sunset, showing some shades of pink, purple and blue that were blending and looked beyond amazing.

She got the courage and texted him saying:

-Hi Hattori

Thanks for the promotion.

Killer told me you agreed with him on this.

It took him a second to reply, she figured he was at the game, because she just saw him online.

-No problem

It was all because of yourself

I did nothing

-You could have said no

But thanks again

-Well, you really changed the whole guild chat, so well deserved

-How is that? Killer also mentioned something about the chat

-Nobody talked before you enter the guild, we tried to make it more animated, but it was not working, apparently, we needed a woman

-Jajajajaja men, right?

-Right

-Also, Killer is never online, and you honestly aren’t quite chatty, at all, no offense :P

-Non taken, and I know

-Btw, your new profile picture is a great picture

For her surprise he continued talking with her

-I am in this precise moment in a friend’s house in Italy

-Oh, that’s where the picture is from?

-Yep, I am sitting in a pool chair right now

He sent her more pictures. All the pictures were great but the most spectacular one was the one he set as his profile picture.

The house was huge, like a mansion, the house land was large, you can see green grass and trees until meeting with the horizon and that was all of his friend's property.

They started talking about her job and his work, he told her he was the owner of his own IT company, he told her about a project he was trying to start, she gave him some advice and she had the most amazing private chat with Hattori.

Their conversation lasted for almost two hours.

When they finally said ‘goodbye’ she was first of all, surprised, for the time they spent talking, it was completely unbelievable that Hattori, the cold distant guild lieutenant was this nice chatty person, and second, how nice and easy was to talk to Hattori, he usually was harsh and not chatty with practically no one, like never, but this time he was quite interesting and super funny, she liked the type of humor he has, a little on the ironic type of humor, and during those two hours he made her forget about her emptiness, on this lonely Sunday.

She was amazingly surprised by Hattori, who would have thought he was actually someone nice to talk to.

When they finished talking, she returned to the game.

As usual, people started to call her on the chat, she read the hello’s and the hi’s in the chat screen, and she was happy to talk to all of them.
