Ocean Eyes

Longing

It's been a little over a week since my birthday and every night since I met Allic at the mall that day, he's all I can think about. He's even in my dreams every night. What does this mean? Is this love? I wonder if he thinks and dreams of me too? I long so badly to see him again. 

Amanda, Emily and myself are going to the beach today. I'm going to be working on my tan today. I really don't feel like swimming. I quickly get changed into my bathing suit. I decided to go with the black one piece bathing suit that I have in my closet. I really like it because it's kind of got a lace look to it. The design has flowers all over it too. It's so pretty and it goes great with my tan skin. I quickly get a loose fitting shirt and a pair of jean shorts to put on over it. 

I make my way downstairs and walk towards the laundry room to get my beach towels. I always have one to lay on the sand and I usually take an extra in case I need it or someone else doesn't have one. My mom sees me with towels and gives me a strange look. It's a look of worry, fear, and shock. She then follows the look with, "I hope you aren't planning on going swimming, are you?" Why? I ask. She looks at my father strangely and he jumps in asking the same thing. 

I then explain that I was just planning on working on my tan. Mom gives me another weird look. She acts like she wants to say something but she doesn't go into an explanation as to why I can't go swimming. 

Why can't I go swimming? I look at mom and dad as I speak with an aggravated tone. Then mom explains that there's an algie bloom in the ocean water that's making people sick. I mean that does make sense. It's happened before. But it just seems like they are keeping something from me. I don't argue with them anymore on the situation so I just nod my head and tell them not to worry and that I'll be getting a tan on the beach. I don't plan on getting in the water anyways. 

I get in my car and go pick up Emily and Amanda and we make our way to the beach. I mention to my friends that we shouldn't get into the water because of the algie bloom. Amanda and Emily look at me like I'm bonkers. What? 

Amanda quickly gets on her phone and looks up information regarding the algie bloom. Then she proceeds to read off the article to me. She then tells me that mom must have read it on some fake social media add or something and that it was, "false news".

 Well it's always good to make sure I guess. You can't be too careful about things nowadays. I wasn't planning on swimming anyways. I want to work on my tan. I guess Emily and Amanda are both getting into the water without me then. 

As we arrive at the beach we notice that there's a lot of people here. Emily and Amanda notice some, "hot guys", in the water so I guess they are going to show off their swimming skills. 

I quickly set my towel down on an empty spot. Then I take my shirt and shorts off and put tanning oil on my skin so I get a nice even tan. I put my shades on and watch as my friends are flirting with two guys. It's the same two guys I assume that they were talking about earlier. They all seem like they are having a good time though. 

All of a sudden I hear a familiar voice. 

"Hey there beautiful". 

I glance over to see Allic. 

"It's Aniey right", he smirks. I sheepishly reply with a small, "yeah". Allic, right? I only pretended to act like I didn't remember well. 

I gaze up at him and noticed his big muscles. His abs are perfectly shaped. His chiseled jaw, those perfect blue eyes. Everything about him is so mesmerizing. I can't help but stare at him. I can feel his eyes on me as well. He can look if he wants I think to myself. I'll allow it. I notice his black swimming trunks with bright red hibiscus flowers on them. They do look good on him though. He stammers a little with his words. 

"Ar-Are you here with someone" , he asks. "Like maybe your boyfriend", he says in a low shy tone. 

Who me, no. I'm here with my friends, Emily and Amanda. Allic looks like he's thinking. "Oh I remember, the ones that were with you at the mall right?" He asks. I reply with a simple and short,"yes the same girls". I giggled a little when he said that.  Me? Here with a boyfriend? Ha! 

He looks as though he wants to ask me a question. Then he says something I'm longing for. 

Aniey? 

Yes Allic? 

Would you like.... Maybe... Want to go for a swim tonight? He asks. I ponder about it for a brief moment and reply with, "yes". Allic proceeds to tell me that he knows a little place not far away with a cave system that leads to the ocean. He asks me if I'd like to bring a snorkel or something so that we can free-dive. It sounds really fun and honestly I'm excited to go. He asks me for my number and I give it to him in hopes that he'll text me. There's one small detail I am forgetting about. "Allic", I nervously say. I'd love to go but I have to ask my parents if it's okay. He says that it's fine. He also said that he will text me later and make sure. I reply with, "okay". 

No sooner then we exchange numbers here comes Emily and Amanda curious of who I'm talking too then I hear Allics friends calling for him. He looks at me with his million dollar smile and his gorgeous rocking bod and says,"I'll text you later". Then he takes off into the direction of his friends and they walk up the beach until I don't see him anymore. 

Emily and Amanda ask if that was the same guy from the mall. I filled them in on everything. They got excited when I told them how Allic asked me to go swimming with him and how we exchanged numbers. 

After Emily and Amanda dry off and get dressed I put my clothes back on over my bathing suite and we leave. After I take them home I go home and go inside to talk to my parents about tonight. 

Mom! I yell. But she and my dad are already waiting in the kitchen. They look like they want to talk but before they get the chance to I just come right out with it and ask them if I can go out swimming tonight. They both look at me and say in unison as if on que, "absolutely not!". 

Why not? I mutter. "We don't want you in the water because of the algie bloom" mother replies. Then I let her know that I'm not falling for it. Amanda researched it all over the internet. It doesn't exist mom. You guys are just being rediculous!

I quickly run up to my room and wait for Allic to text me. At about 8p.m. I see a random number pop up on my phone that I don't recognize but when I read the text, I instantly know who it is. 

Allic, "Are you aloud to go?"  I quickly text back, "yes". I made sure to use a smiley emoji so it seemed cute and sweet. He replies with a winky face. It melts my heart. I'm beyond excited for tonight.
