LUCIAN’s POV
I returned to the apartment with my brother after running in with Adrian on my way back from club runs with Felix. The moment we entered the living room, the sweet scent of Rosalie, overpowering the whole apartment, was the first thing I noticed. However, that scent was mixed with something else that threatened to drive me mad.
Was that the scent of her arousal?
I recall it so well after the last night we heard her play with her pușsy, oblivious to her audience.
“Is she…?” Felix began, his eyes wide, hesitant to say the very thing we were all thinking.
Before any of us could voice out a reply, we saw her bedroom doorknob turn and heard the sound of it clicking open. I instinctively held my breath, unsure of how to react, how to stand in the same room as her where I’d been forced to restrain my wolf from the sight of an omega in heat. It was bad enough that I’d already been attracted to her from the moment I saw her; now the moon goddess was torturing us unprovoked by making her get her first heat while living with us.
Levi would have to understand; we tried not to think of her this way. My wolf grumbled, but I quickly blocked him from communicating with me. If anyone was going to cause us to lose our restraint, then it would be my wolf.
Moving out of the apartment and squatting at the bikers' clubhouse until her heat passes was starting to seem like the most reasonable and respectable option.
I felt a bit of disappointment and confusion when the door opened fully to reveal Theodore instead. He quickly shuffled out and shut the door behind him before walking towards us.
“What were you doing in Rosalie’s room?” Felix asked, his usual playful tone missing.
I didn’t wait for Theodore’s answer before spitting out my own question. “Why are you breathing so hard?”
Theodore froze for a second, then ran a hand through his black hair, looking more rattled than I’d seen him in years. His cheeks were slightly flushed, and the scent clinging to him — sweet omega slick mixed with his own arousal — hit me like a f*****g truck.
“Relax,” he said, voice low. “She texted me. Asked me to come talk to her privately.”
Adrian’s grey eyes sharpened instantly. “I already told them about that, but that doesn’t explain why you just left her bedroom looking like that. Were we interrupting something?”
“No,” Theodore answered a little too fast. He glanced back at her closed door, then at us. He lowered his voice even more. “She asked me for help.”
The words landed like a grenade. For a moment, none of us spoke. The apartment felt too small, the air too thick with her scent. My c**k twitched traitorously in my jeans, and my wolf snarled with raw need.
Mine.
I shoved him back down hard.
“She asked you?” I said, the words coming out harsher than I intended. Jealousy burned hot in my chest. Of course she went to Theodore first — the flirt, the one who always knew how to charm his way into any situation. Not me. Never the fuckboy who’d probably ruin her.
Theodore nodded, looking guilty as hell. “She’s suffering, man. She tried handling it herself, but it’s not enough. I told her it could take weeks… and that we shouldn’t cross that line because of Levi.”
Felix let out a low whistle, pacing a few steps. “f**k. What did you do?”
“Nothing,” Theodore snapped, but his fists were clenched. “Although I may have given her the impression that I was going to help, I was going to um—“ Theodore cleared his throat awkwardly before continuing, “Then you guys walked in. Her scent is everywhere. I barely kept it together in there.”
Clearly. Her scent was all over him.
Adrian remained silent, but I didn’t miss the way his jaw ticked, hiding his jealousy. To be honest, like me, I didn’t think Adrian cared if Theodore was to help Rosalie through her heat. We didn’t mind sharing; the problem was if he was the only one she wanted. So yes, just like Adrain, I was jealous. I wished to be in Theodore’s shoes this very moment, and forgive me, Levi, but I fear I’d lose every restraint if she had come to me for help.
The four of us stood there, alphas fighting the same losing battle; the overwhelming urge to kick Theodore out of the way, storm into her room, and give our omega exactly what she needed.
Because we wanted her to be ours. Even if we couldn’t say it out loud.
“Didn’t we agree we were going to keep our distance from Rosalie? She is forbidden.” Felix deadpanned, emphasizing the last word.
“That was before her heat.” Adrian frowned.
“And? That doesn’t change the fact that she’s still Levi’s f*****g sister. I agreed we wouldn’t let her go to another alpha. I never agreed we’d throw our promise to Levi out the damn window. ” Felix shot back.
“Last I checked, we all agreed last night that if she came asking for help, then we weren’t going to let her find another wolf to ease her heat. And as I said earlier, Rosalie asked me; if I didn’t know better, I'd think the only reason you’re strongly against it was that she didn’t ask you.” Theodore taunted, crossing his arms.
“Oh, so now you’re the hero? Mr. Virgin who suddenly wants to play knight-in-shining-armor for our dead best friend’s little sister? Spare me the bullshit, Theo.” Felix jabbed.
I couldn’t hold back anymore.
“Both of you shut the f**k up,” I growled, stepping between them. “You think this is easy for any of us? Her scent is driving me insane. I can still hear her moaning from last night every time I close my eyes. But Felix is right, we made a promise. If we touch her, we’re crossing a line we can’t uncross.”
Adrian’s grey eyes were stormy as he looked at all of us. “We’re not sending her to some random alpha. That’s not happening. But Theodore jumping in alone… that doesn’t sit right either.”
“So what? We all take turns? Is that what you’re saying, Adrian?” Theodore’s eyes flashed with irritation.
“Enough!” I snapped, my voice rising. “We’re standing here arguing like idiots while she’s suffering in there. This isn’t about who gets her first; it’s about doing right by Levi and not ruining her life.”
Felix threw his hands up. “Then what the hell do we do? Because ignoring it isn’t working. Her scent is all over the damn apartment!”
The argument grew louder, voices overlapping as accusations and frustrations flew. My wolf was pacing inside me, furious and possessive. I wanted to punch something, preferably Theodore’s smug face for being the one she chose first.
Suddenly, Rosalie’s bedroom door flew open with a loud bang.
We all froze.
She stood there in nothing but an oversized t-shirt that barely reached her thighs, her long blonde hair messy, cheeks flushed deep red, and blue eyes blazing with fury and embarrassment.
“Stop!” she yelled. “Just stop it! All of you!”
The four of us stared at her in stunned silence.
“You’re out here arguing about me like I’m some kind of object. I’m standing right here, burning alive, and all I hear is what Levi would’ve wanted.” Her hands were shaking as she gripped the doorframe.
Tears of frustration glistened in her eyes as she glared at each of us.
“This is my life. And I’m going crazy from this heat, so for the goddess's sake, can you all please stop mentioning my brother? Either help me or reject me so I find someone else— but stop talking about me like I’m not even here!”
