ROSALIE’s POV
After my talk with the quadruplets, I felt a lot relieved to hear that they weren’t actually avoiding me. I was also glad they didn’t speak of my clothing incident. As embarrassing as that had been, the men not being weird about it after I had a change of clothes made me feel better about the situation.
When we were done talking, I retreated to my bedroom as I had started to feel my uneasiness return. This time, instead of the dizziness and discomfort I felt earlier, it was a burning sensation spreading through my body and settling at my core between my legs.
It was unfamiliar yet like pleasurable feeling mixed with pain. Pain because it wasn’t been tended to. The feelings were strange but my symptoms suddenly felt strikingly familiar.
I wasn’t going into heat, was I?
Oh no—
I’d heard all about what going on heat felt like, especially as an omega, and I’d always assumed I’d be mated by the time my first heat ever arrived.
Not this, not alone.
I stared at my reflection in the bedroom mirror, my breathing uneven.
“No… no, no, no.”
Please let me be wrong, maybe it was just stress, or maybe I was coming down with the flu. Despite wanting to believe that, I already knew that was unlikely. The feverish warm sensation spreading through my skin wasn’t an illness.
Every lesson from s*x education classes about what heat was and the conversation I overheard between older unmated omegas on how they’d survive their first heat came rushing back to me.
I slowly sank onto the edge of my bed, pressing trembling hands against my face. “This can’t be happening…”
Heat cycles weren’t just uncomfortable, they were unbearable. Increasing in intensity as days passed without it being soothed. How was I supposed to survive the two weeks that heat last for when day one was already this bad?
An unmated omega’s scent intensified during heat, becoming impossible for unmated males to ignore. The stories I’d heard growing up weren’t exaggerations. My body and wolf fighting against me, deciding I was fit for a baby and wouldn’t be soothed until I had s*x. That’s what I heard at least. Families usually kept young omegas secluded during their first heat for everyone’s safety, and most omegas experienced their first cycle after finding a mate, then they could soothe it without the intention of breeding.
I had neither.
Just four alpha bikers living on the other side of the apartment. My stomach dropped at the thought of them. What if they could smell me?
Would they notice? I’d heard Alphas could smell an omega’s heat immediately.
Would they think I was…?
“No.”
I shook my head. I couldn’t panic. There had to be something I could do.
I grabbed my phone and searched through article after article about unmated omega in heat, desperately hoping to find some miracle solution.
Most of the advice was the same; Stay home, avoid unnecessary contact with alphas, self pleasure to ease the pain, use scent suppressants if available.
I swallowed hard. I didn’t have suppressants and I couldn’t possibly go out in this state to get some. Also, asking any of the quadruplet for help concerning this was out of the question. I continued to read further and my eyes lit up when I saw a far more reasonable option.
Nesting.
“Okay, I could do that,” I nodded and immediately stood up from my vanity chair. I sneaked out of my room, luckily no one was out in the shared living space. I grabbed a bunch of clean blankets from the laundry closet and returned to my room.
I began forming a little nest with the help of the blanket. Afterwards, I settled in the middle and waited patiently for the warmth of the blanket nest to start taking effect at soothing me as the advice had suggested.
After what felt like eternity, (really it was only fifteen minutes) I threw aside the blanket I was tucked in and groaned in annoyance. Why wasn’t it working?
I grabbed my phone one more time and scrolled through the post in search of better advice. The last option in this post had me freezing in the spot.
Self pleasure. This is effective when there’s no one to offer an external help to reach pleasure.
My gaze remained fixed on the glowing words on my screen. My cheeks instantly flamed.
“I’m not doing that.” I locked my phone and tossed it onto the bed as though it had personally insulted me.
“That can’t be my last resort.” I buried my face in one of the blankets, groaning into the fabric. Everything felt too warm. Even breathing seemed to fan the strange ache I felt. My wolf stirred restlessly and I curled tighter into the nest I’d made.
I forced myself to think rationally.
Cold shower?
I hurried into the ensuite bathroom and turned the water to the coldest setting I could tolerate. The icy spray hit my skin, and I gasped at the initial shock. After a couple minutes in the shower, I felt the burning sensation start to ease up.
“Oh, thank goodness…”
But by the time I stepped out, dried myself off, and slipped back into an oversized T-shirt, the heat returned even worse than before, it made my knees buckle and my leg too tired to hold me upright.
I leaned heavily against the bathroom sink, closing my eyes.
I guess I’m left with no choice nor. Self pleasure it is!
