1.The team of twelve Cambodian commandos had entered Burmese territory from an unpopulated point in Laos around 20 km west of Meung Town. Once over the border they made their way cross-country to a small farm just south of Mong Lin where a trusted contact had two beat up pick-ups waiting for them. They then headed north towards the town of Mongyawng. The town was the point where they split into two teams, one heading west into the lower reaches of the mountains, the others northeast from the town. These were the two principal production sites that had been identified in the region.
