****Writer's POV****
Layla can't believe Carlos did every of that to ask her a rhetorical question. She pushed him away and started breathing hard, trying to cover her laps.
"No one will touch me" she said.
"Layla, if anyone touches you, report to me immediately" he said.
"Why?"
"Am I clear?!" He angrily banged his hand on the wall.
"Yes master" she quickly replied.
"Good girl. Get ready to leave for school tomorrow" he said and walked away from her.
He head to his room as he has lost his appetite.
Layla sat on the floor, trying to catch some air. She was still feeling his touch all over her body.
"What was that?" She asked herself.
.
Carlos got into his room. He took his doze for the injection and had his bath. He couldn't get Layla's scent off his head. He stared at his palm, standing under the hot shower. He just picture himself with Layla again.
He suddenly felt his head spinning. He grabbed the wall and started groaning. He knew it was because of his wolf thing. He was also away from Layla.
The tree must have been growing well.
He started thinking as he was away from Layla for just how many miles, how is his father and the others coping from where they are.
"I need to get her blood as soon as possible" he thought.
.
.
The next morning, Layla got dressed for school. She wore her new uniform. It was neatly ironed. She also wore a huge jacket over it to over the shortness of the shirt.
Carlos noticed her action and pretended not to notice. He didn't want to oppress her or make her feel uncomfortable after what happened today.
"Good morning master" she greeted, serving him his breakfast.
"Thank you Layla" he said, staring at her. Layla threw her gaze away from him and poured his juice into his cup.
"Have you taken your shot?" She asked.
He raised his head and frowned. He thought she was joking about his health but she saw the seriousness in her face.
"Yeah, I did" he replied.
"Very well then" she said.
"Pablo will take you to school and he'll also bring you back"
"Why? I can leave on my own. I'm not a child"
"That's because I'm still arranging some guards for you" He said. Layla shot her mouth wide open. She can't understand what's going on. She grabbed a chair and sat opposite him.
"Why do I need guards following me?" She asked.
"You'll be attending the school as my younger sister. Layla Luciano. People must fear you and stay away from you at all cost" he said.
"I don't need people fearing me. I'm not like you. I want people to love me for who I am" Layla tried to explain but her speech was falling on deaf ears.
"Are you trying to reject my offer?" He asked with anger in his voice.
"No, I'm not. I'm sorry, master" she said, lowering her head.
"Why can't you give me some of your men? You have a lot"
"I'm looking for female guards for you. I don't want men around you" he said. Layla shot her mouth wide open. She thought she was dreaming.
"Why?"
"Because you're mine Layla. Do you want me singing it as a song? Eat your breakfast and get ready to leave" he said.
"I've eaten already. I'm just waiting for you" she said.
"Don't wait! Go. I'll take care of myself" he said.
Layla didn't even wait any second. She took her school bag and adjusted her hair. Her long brown hair, the one she styled so well.
"Thank you master" she said and ran out of the mansion. Pablo opened the car for her. She got in and he drove her to school.
Layla was so excited that she get to go to school. She didn't want anyone following her around because she was going to use that means to visit her family. Now, Carlos was going to ruin everything just by getting her guards.
Pablo snapped her out of her thoughts.
"Master is being nice to you. Lucky you" he said.
"Yeah, I don't even understand" she replied.
"Did you do something to him that pleased him?" Pablo asked.
She quickly remembered Carlos warnings. She wasn't allowed to tell anyone about his sickness.
"No, I just obeyed his stupid rules of getting his meal ready on time, avoiding his rules and staying away from him" she lied.
"I see. You're the good slave" Pablo said.
Layla laughed.
"But don't let my service to you get inside your head. I'm only following my master's orders of driving you to school. I'm not your driver" he said.
"Of course, I know that Pablo. I'm still Carlos Luciano's slave" she said.
"Don't forget that" Pablo said. Layla glared at him through the center mirror. There was no glimpse of smile on his face. She thought that he hasn't done anything to please Carlos before. That's why he must be so mean to her.
