Chapter 19

891 Words
It had been two weeks, Aerly had settled in amongst the pack as their new Alpha. They were pleased to have another Rowe lead them. There had been a lot to do, fixing so much amongst the pack, some treated as slaves and servants. The state of living was medieval and she couldn't stand a minute more of it. Darius despite their rocky start was quick to show his loyalty and alongside Noah began training the pack and warriors in defence while even though she was young Lilah stood as Aerly's right hand.  "How many are there?" Aerly sighed her hands rubbing roughly at her face as they sat in the sitting room of the large abode.  "I don't know, Alpha... These ones approached me yesterday" Lilah spoke sadly over the subject. It was hard not to sympathise with what the pack had been through. "Okay, invite them in" Aerly confirmed. The pack was quite large but she had found one of many problems being Grayson had not only sold her grandparents off as slaves but many others he deemed too weak. "Alpha?" An older woman asked, her hands seemed to be in a constant state of shaking as she approached Aerly but she stood and smile to the woman.  "Yes, I have heard from Lilah here you have a problem" Aerly directed to the young teen who guided the woman in. Aerly in the last two weeks had somehow managed her tone from a firm and threatening to strong and understanding one thing she had learned now being a leader. "Yes, my name is Imora Gene I heard you were gathering information from the pack members about how many were sold and where they were sent" she spoke as Aerly guided her to sit on the large lounge.  "I am indeed Imora" Aerly nodded in confirmation as she sat opposite the woman. "I'm sorry it's taken so long to speak to you. I live on the outskirts of the pack... When Alpha Greyson took over" she sighed "vicious beast he was I fled as far as I could... I begged my son to follow but he didn't the Alpha killed him and his wife then..." she sniffled "he sold my granddaughter. She's only human, Alpha." Aerly couldn't help but look to Lilah in concern. In total a pack of sixty the ex Alpha had killed at least forty since he had come and sold twenty "I'm so sorry for what has happened and that I didn't get here sooner." "Oh dear, you're here now and that is what matters" the woman gave an old withered smile. "Thank you, I am trying... What is your granddaughter's name?" Aerly questioned. "Serenity, Serenity Gene. Her mother was human and so is she..." Imora sniffled again "she's only nineteen years old..." Imora let out a long sigh before attempting to compose herself "but I'm here because I can help you find where he sent them. I would of went and tried to bring her home but I'm far too old now, Alpha I would be of no use." "It's alright, we understand. Where did he send them?" Aerly asked eagerly. "Purebloods, Purebloods took them. Most packs are intermingled now with werewolves and Purebloods such as ours but it was a pack of all purebloods" the older woman explained. "How many are left that are all Purebloods?" It was becoming apparent that Aerly was lacking in her knowledge of pack life. "Only ones that believe they are superior the closest one from here is the one who..." she trailed off as her dark eyes fell to the floor. "Who what?" "Aerly dear, I've been in this pack a long time. I knew your mother and the purebloods that are closest to us now, well they took that land from your father" the news hit Aerly like a ton of bricks. "Why, why didn't anyone fight against them?" She couldn't help but wonder. "A large feral Purebloods pack... Everyone was terrified, Alpha" she explained. "Who is the Alpha? And are we sure that is where our people have been sold?" Aerly spoke as she attempted to put her emotions aside. "I am sure that is where they would have been sent, Alpha their Alpha is a monster... His father gave him the land once he was old enough. His name is Julius Damery" Aerly and Lilah's eyes almost popped out of their heads at the name but Aerly was quick to compose herself. "Thank you for coming, Imora. I have much to discuss with my second in command" Aerly forced her formal tone. "Thank you, Alpha" the older woman gave a smile before making her way out. As soon as the door closed the girls looked at each other in shock. "Julius Damery... That is Lucian's brother" Lilah exclaimed in worry "I didn't even know he was this far west." "Raiden's cousin... s**t" Aerly sighed at the thought of her mate "Are you okay, Lilah?" "I will be... I have to be don't I? We have to take this bastard down, Alpha" Lilah suddenly growled. "I know... I know" Aerly rubbed aimlessly at her forehead in worry "that means Raiden's uncle..." "Raiden's uncle killed your mother" Lilah confirmed giving a sympathetic look to the young Alpha. "Of course, of course, we just need a plan" Aerly quickly composed herself. Her hands balled to fists "we will take him down" Aerly barely finished the sentence when Darius came rushing in. "Alpha! Alpha! There is someone at the border!..."
