Embers Of The Crescent Moon pack
Terror. Blood. Death Tainted the night sky, sword clashing and desperate cries filled the Moon Crescent pack, in contrast to the peace the pack had known. Despite the ongoing war amongst the packs vying for power, the Moon Crescent pack remained peaceful. But that night, thanks to the damn prophecy, Crescent Moon Pack had become a battlefield. A few months ago, the prophecy foretold the birth of a moon princess in the Crescent Moon pack. Whichever pack secures her for their Alpha, would hold the power to rule the entire werewolf world. From east, west, north, and south, rival packs attacked. The cries of pregnant women filled the air as warriors from different packs dragged them away. It was a battle of the survivors of the fittest. Dead bodies lay on the ground like scattered leaves, and blood flowed like a river. At the center of the pack, Queen Zelda paced up and down the living room of the pack house. Her fingers played with the hem of her dress, twisting the fabric like a lifeline. Her breath was quick, and her heart raced. Suddenly, the packhouse burst open, sending chills down her spine. She swallowed, anticipating what was about to come. "My Luna," a soothing voice echoed. Zelda raised her head, then breathed a sigh of relief. She let go of the hem of her dress and hastened her steps towards the man who had just entered the packhouse. It was her husband, King Alden, the alpha of the Moon Crescent pack. Zelda threw herself in his arms as tears gushed out of her eyes. "Alpha.. What... what should we do?" She put her head on Alpha Alden's shoulder with her arms around him. Alden breathed out, breaking the embrace to meet her gaze. Her eyes blink rapidly. "Listen to me, Zelda, we have to leave this pack now," Alpha Alden said with a firm voice. Luna Zelda narrowed her eyes, taking slow breaths. "But... what about our..." Alden's cold hands touched hers, cutting her short. She sighed as butterflies flew in her tummy. The touch was priceless, making her remember how much Alden loves her despite her original status as an Omega. He fell for her when they were merely 17 years and 15 years, respectively. Lucky enough, they found out they were mates when Zelda turned 18. Because of her sweet nature, the pack member never objected to her as their Luna. Zelda gazed deeply into Alden's eyes and swallowed hard. Alden's eyes fell on Zelda's bulging tummy. He placed a hand on her round, big belly and looked her back in the eyes. "You are carrying the heir of the Crescent Moon pack. What will happen if we both die?" Alden's words made sense to Zelda. "I and the warriors will create an escape route for you. Please wait here." With that, he removed his hand from the belly and exhaled. His eyes roamed on her beautiful spotless face, then he smiled. "I will be back," he said reassuringly. As Alden turned to leave, Zelda held his hand. He glanced at the hand and then at Zelda's face, the face of a woman he had always loved. "Please, be safe," she whispered. Alpha Alden grimaced before pulling away his hand, turning, and walking towards the door. Zelda took a step back, her breath shallow, and her fingers clenched the hem of her dress once again. The cries outside the packhouse grew louder as the sound of swords slashing drew near and near. Zelda's eyes roamed around the room, pressing a hand on her stomach and caressing it slowly. "We will be fine" She muttered. In a blink, the door was forcefully open. Few warriors of the crescent pack stormed in with swords in their hands. Some were half-shift and some in their human form. Amongst them was Rowel, the King's Beta. "Protect the Luna," Rowel commanded. That very moment, strange wolves stormed into the house. They had mocking expressions on their faces. The air in the room became chilly. Queen Zelda blinked rapidly, looking at the strange-looking wolves that had just entered the pack house. She swallowed hard and her heart raced. The thought of her husband corrupted her mind. That very moment, she gasped. "Is my husband dead?" she thought. Zelda shook her head. No! "My husband is alive; he is somewhere fighting these pests," she assured herself. "Let us get the queen out of this place," Rowel said. "Attack!" One of the enemies yelled. A group of warriors in their human form half shifted; their growls filled the room while others engaged in a hand-to-hand fight. "Stay behind me," Rowel said to Queen Zelda. His eyes were sharp. His sword is ready to s*******r anything that comes towards the Queen. A rival warrior charged towards them from the side. Rowel and the rival warrior were fighting fiercely. The enemy warrior was faster than Rowel; with one brutal move, he struck a fatal blow on Rowel. Rowel fell to the ground, gasping, and his eyes were wide with shock. "No!" Zelda cried out, her voice breaking as she watched Rowel fall. Her intestines twisted. Her eyes roamed around. Aside from Rowel, the other warriors from the pack were lying in their own pool of blood. The queen's heart threatened to come out through her wide open mouth. The rival warriors had a triumphant look on their faces. They were all in their human forms, those that had shifted into their Wolf form earlier were stuck naked before the Queen. They pushed past the dead bodies, moving towards the queen. With wobbled legs, the queen slowly took steps backwards, but the rival warriors quickly approached her. She was not a match for them, yet she tried to fight. “Let me go!” She shouted, desperation clawing at her throat as they seized her arms, dragging her out of the pack house. As soon as they stepped out of the packhouse, a loud gasp escaped Zelda's mouth. Her eyes stringed, and tears voluntarily streamed out of the eyes like flood water. Children and women were crumpled at corners, some either in their wolf form, some half shifted and some stuck naked, crying their lungs out. This was in contrast to what the pack had nurtured. Half shifted wolves from the pack and the enemy's pack lay lifeless on the ground. The smell of blood choked her nostrils, the clan was in ruins. 'Alden, where are you?' She tried to communicate through the mind link, yet she got no response. The sound of chaos began to cease as they dragged her further away from her pack. She looked around and was surrounded by about 10 men from the enemy pack. "ouch" A faint growl escaped her slightly parted lips. She had just felt a sharp pain in her tummy. She swallowed hard, trying to blush off the pain, yet it intensified. With her free hand, she caressed her stomach, breathing heavily. "No... Not now," she muttered to herself in a whisper. She was in labor.
