*Third Person’s Point Of View*
Everyone turned to look at the tall lean man whose face was partially covered by a black hooded cloak. Luna Victoria stood from her seat and walked through the guests to get a better view of the person who had just said her son’s name, but before she could walk more, Alpha Albert stopped her.
“Victoria, this could be a trap. We don’t know for sure that he’s our Andres.”
“No I won’t let you stop me! I have waited too long to see my boy again.”
Tears ran down her cheeks as she pulled her arm from his hold and rushed over to the man in the hooded cloak. Just as she reached him, he lifted his left hand with the intention of driving his claws across her stomach. Luna Victoria stood frozen, still unable to get a clear view of her attacker.
“Ma’am watch out!”
Leon, who was not too far from where they stood, rushed to where she stood and pushed Luna Victoria out the way. They both rolled on the ground and Alpha Albert rushed over to their side to stand between them and the hooded figure.
“You dare attack Corin’s Luna! There is no way you are my son! So now, tell me who you really are!”
“This has nothing to do with you. I’m here to conquer two of the most powerful packs and for that I need to kill the Alpha. Jonah Raeburn will die tonight.”
Aurora grabbed Jonah’s hand tightly with no intention of letting him go. She stared at the man under the cloak in disbelief. She understood that Jonah would have to fight him for the title of Alpha and she was confident that he would not be defeated, but she couldn’t shake the bad feeling growing stronger in her chest.
“Aurora, listen carefully I need you to go with Leon. He already knows what to do so promise me you will follow him.”
“No! I don’t want to leave you.”
“Everything will be fine. Just do as I say.”
“What about you?”
“If I know you’re safe, I will be able to focus on my opponent.”
Jonah turned to the elder and asked him to continue.
“Jonah Raeburn, do you accept the challenge from Andres Cordova or do you surrender your position of Alpha to him?”
“I, Jonah Raeburn accept the challenge.”
“As per tradition, the fight will be for the role of Alpha and it will conclude only when one of the werewolves has succumbed to death.”
Before another word was spoken the man who presented himself as Andres, ran up to Jonah with his full speed to commence his attack.
“Aurora, go now!”
Tears spilled from Aurora’s eyes as she rushed over to where Leon was standing.
Jonah’s feet stood steady on the ground as he braced himself to dodge his opponent’s first punch. Andres’ knuckles came in close contact to Jonahs’s face, but before he could land his punch, Jonah moved swiftly to one side and hit him in the ribs with a strong left hook. The impact made Andres lose his balance and before he could regain his composure, Jonah punched him right under his jaw, which sent him flying across the gardens. Jonah approached his rival on the ground and lifted him by his shirt.
“No one in their right mind would come to my estate and challenge me with such a pitiful technique. Do you have a death wish?”
The rogue werewolf began to laugh and rolled his eyes.
“I’m merely a distraction. You don’t know who you're dealing with here. He will take over all the packs one day and not even you will be able to stop him.”
“What are you saying you maniac? Who is HE?!”
“I’m only going to tell you the details, but you might want to go check on the guards at your gate.”
The rogue werewolf revealed a black pill that he had been hiding under his tongue and then swallowed it which caused his body to convulse and soon after he died.
Jonah looked around and noticed that everyone had been escorted back to the castle. Without another moment to waste, he ran to find the captain of the warriors and gave orders to have thirty warriors accompany him to the front gates while another thirty warriors surrounded the castle. Their orders were to kill anyone on sight who tried to infiltrate the estate.
At the same time, the guests were all in the ballroom where warriors stood by to protect them. Following his Alpha’s instructions, Leon grabbed Aurora’s arm and began to escort her to the safe room.
“Wait Leon. Where are we going?”
“The Alpha ordered me to escort you to a safe room in case of an attack. Please don’t ask questions and follow me.”
Aurora did as she was told, but when they were about to turn the corner two rogues jumped Leon without any warning, but he defended himself against them with ease. In that moment, Aurora realized that there were more of these rogues throughout the castle.
“Leon, I need to go back.”
“What?! No you can’t.”
“I can’t leave the guests by themselves. There are children down there!”
“Miss Aurora, but the Alpha’s orders!”
“These are your Luna’s orders!”
“I - I understand.”
“Please, I need you to search the castle thoroughly for more rogues. I know there are more of them and our guests are in danger. I will go back and alert my father and the other Alphas.”
“Okay, be careful!”
Aurora rushed back downstairs and just as she was about to run towards the ballroom, a rogue came from behind her and pulled her into a bear hug.
“Let go of me you beast!”
“Why don’t I have some fun with you first?”
Just as he was about to pick her body up, Aurora bent forward from the waist, shifting her weight which gave her a better angle to throw her elbows from side to side to the rogue’s face using her full force. With her dominant hand, she flexed her wrist and aimed at the rogue’s nose which made him fall to the floor.
Aurora ran towards the ballroom and on her way there she saw Sarah.
“Miss Aurora is everything okay?”
“Sarah, follow me. I need your help!”
When they both entered the ballroom, Alpha Noel was quick to notice them.
“Aurora, what’s wrong?! I thought Leon was taking you somewhere safe.”
“Dad, listen to me there’s more than one.”
“More than one what?”
“More than one rogue! Please, you and the Alphas need to help Jonah defend the estate and the guests. In the meantime I will escort the children to the secret chamber.”
“Yes! of course we will help.”
Aurora needed to get everyone’s attention in one moment so she grabbed one of the portraits from the walls and sent it crashing down to the floor. Everyone turned to look and she proceeded with her announcement.
“Everyone listen carefully. There are a few rogues inside the castle. At the moment we are trying to find their exact locations, but our priority should be the children. I will escort them to a safe place accompanied while the rest of you will remain here with the protection of the Alphas. I assure you, your children will be out of danger and we will all get through this together!”
“Aurora, so that I can be more at ease please allow Richard to accompany you.”
“Alpha Albert, I appreciate your help, but our Beta is more than capable of getting us to safety.
Just as she finished speaking, Leon entered the ballroom abruptly. He rushed over to Sarah and Aurora. With his help, they were able to successfully take all the children through the halls and to the secret chamber.
“Leon, please stay here with Sarah and the children. If someone finds this place, both of you need to defend these children with your lives.”
Aurora closed the door behind her and went to find Jonah. She ran through the halls and she kept hoping for his safety. She reached the front entrance of the castle and caught a glimpse of him on a horse coming from the direction of the estate’s entrance. She smiled and began to run towards him as fast as she could.
Jonah saw her petite figure from afar and his heart dropped. He was able to handle the rogues at the entrance because he knew that she was safe, but now she was running towards him. When he got closer to her, he got off his horse and opened his arms to catch her in his embrace.
