A TASTE OF HER
Ding! Ding! Ding! Sydney Harper's alarm shocked her out of sleep. As she turned off the alarm, she rolled her eyes. She needed to get up because it was six o'clock. She stood up and entered the bathroom to wash her teeth while yawning carelessly. A little while later, she took the brush to start sweeping the house after exiting the bathroom. After completing the sweeping, she put the filthy clothing in the washing machine. She walked into the kitchen to wash the dishes. After completing the dishes, she made breakfast. Friday meant toasted bread and tea on the menu. Before 7am, she had to make sure she finished all of her responsibilities. Nelly, her aunt, gets up at 7 a.m. She had best be quick with her chores if she didn't want to get an earful. She looked about and felt content. She finished ahead of schedule. She had already placed the meal on the table. She went into her room to shower and get ready for work. Her outfit consisted of a blue chiffon top and a short black skirt. She wore her black hair up in a bun. She also applied light makeup to her face. She slipped on her black slip-on sneaker. She came out of her room to find Nelly and her children, Dan and Mira, already dining at the table. "Good morning, Aunt," Sydney greeted. "I can't find my black gown, Sydney." Mira stated abruptly. "What black gown? The one I got you last week?" Nelly inquired, ignoring Sydney's greetings. Sydney let out a sigh. She was used to it. "This morning I washed it. It's on the line." In amazement, Mira dropped the toast bread she was holding. "Did you wash it in the washing machine?" Sydney looked perplexed at Mira. What's the deal with her expression? "Yes. How was I supposed to wash it?" Mira exclaimed, covering her mouth with her hands in disbelief. "Mom! Look at how she's speaking to me! How would you wash such pricey fabric in the washing machine, huh?" Nelly frowned as she examined Sydney. "How come you didn't ask before you washed it?" Do you know how much that dress costs? I spent half my salary on that dress for her!" Sydney almost laughed angrily. A dress costing half a month's salary? Nelly was willing to spend her money on frivolous items, but she forced Sydney to spend her whole salary on the house, leaving her with little to save for herself. Mira began to cry aloud. "Mom She did it on purpose, I'm sure. It's because she's envious. If you wanted the dress, Sydney, you could have said so. Why did you have to sabotage it? We are, after all, cousins." "She should simply pay for the gown. What's the point of all this babbling?" Dan, who had been eating peacefully, abruptly stated. "I should pay?" Sydney was taken aback. She barely had any money to herself after giving Nelly money for household expenses. She is now obligated to pay for an outfit that was not her fault. "How do I get the money? Mira, you've never complained about my using the washing machine, so how was I meant to know this was different? How am I going to get the money?" Sydney was on the verge of tears. This family is constantly looking for new ways to punish her. "It doesn't matter how you do it. Simply pay. You have the option of paying in installments. No more argument." Nelly declared. Sydney looked at her Aunt before wiping the tears that were about to drop. "I will return late tonight. I'm going to a gathering with my boss." She managed to say, and she walked out of the house without waiting for a response, even though she knows she won't get one. She noticed the dress Mira claimed had been destroyed by the washing machine completely dry on the line outside the house. There was no evidence that the clothing had been destroyed, as Mira stated. They were clearly out to extract money from her. They've been extorting a lot of money from her in the name of her having to support the house because she was living there as well. But it appears that she is now shouldering all of the responsibility. As she took the cab to work, she shoved all her worries to the back of her mind. Miller's Group, she arrived at work thirty minutes later. She smiled at the security guard as she entered and took the lift. Her boss, to her surprise, was already present. She placed her bag on her desk, which was directly across from the CEO's office because she was his secretary. "Good morning, sir," she said gently as she walked in. Oliver raised his head from his laptop, his eyes glinting as he saw her. Every morning, her beauty seemed to be rejuvenated. He smiled and looked at her lustfully. Sydney found his smile unsettling, but she knew why. He had made numerous advances to her, but she had always disregarded them. She has a boyfriend, whom she adores. "If there's nothing else, I'd go work." Sydney finally said seeing Oliver had nothing to say to her other than look lustfully at her. She turned around and went away. Oliver's gaze was fixed on her little buttocks as she walked away. He could feel his member becoming stiff. "I must have a taste of her someday," he grumbled to himself. Sydney was concentrating on her job and was relieved that Oliver had not interrupted her. Sydney's expression brightened as she turned to see who had came out of the lift. It was Oliver's girlfriend, Diana Steve. She entered the room with her personal aide. Diana was well-liked because she came from a wealthy family and was an A-list actress. Sydney, who aspired to be an actress, saw Diana as a role model and aspired to be as famous as her someday. "Good morning, Miss Diana" Sydney smiled as she approached. Diana gave a soft smile. "Good morning, sweetheart. How are you doing? I hope your boss isn't too demanding." Sydney made a shaky motion with her head. "Not at all, Miss Diana" She couldn't tell Diana that her boyfriend was making s****l attempts towards her. She felt sorry for Diana whenever she came to check on her boss. How could such a nice lady fall for this haughty womaniser? Diana scowled. "I warned you not to call me Miss Diana anymore. Simply call out out my name. I'll go in now." As Diana entered, Sydney nodded and smiled sheepishly. Diana's assistant disdained Sydney as she took a seat on the couch next to Sydney's desk. Diana had warned her that this secretary's appearance had the potential to captivate Oliver. Sydney didn't know why, but she had the impression Diana's assistant despised her for some reason. But who cares? Diana was kind to her, and that's all that matters.
