I turned my back at once to see what she was yelling for but did not see anything, I then remembered it was a sign we use in the palace this time the sign meant I should take good care of myself. We went back home without any of us breaking the silence. Inside of me was full of fears because since I was born I did not have any boss I had male friends. I never touched a guy, kissed them, or once played with them. I don’t know anything about romance, talking about romance, and how I would be romantic is what I did not know especially now am a married woman. I will only try to learn them one after the other from my new husband only if he is or maybe read from romantic novels. “My Highness”, where are we riding to, I asked though I wasn’t supposed to ask till we arrived as I was advised by my mother, but I needed to know how long my journey was going to take and where I was even traveling to. He looked at me with a narrowed gaze. Now he would be so furious about me, I thought. “we would be traveling from the Northern part of Comrat to the southernmost hills of Rezina, the journey may take a long time and maybe tiresome”, he answered slowly. I felt relief. So it means we will be having a boring journey. “But we would be speeding up or horses soon”, he concluded. I wanted to ask another question but was reluctant he would answer me. I then summon the courage to ask him one last question. “Do you have another wife,? Because I was already afraid of being a second wife, third or even fourth, my Highness”. No, I don’t he answered sluggishly. Everything about him for now was still strange to me, but at least I was happy with his answers they were all positive. “But I have many mistresses he added”. He is attractive I said to myself as I looked at him one last time. I wanted to cough but burst into laughter. “you don’t seem to like that” he said. Sure I don’t but I didn’t want to say that because this journey of my life was not for me to like it dislike. I Wonder what his name would be. I thought. He then turned to me and said You can call me Amber when we are alone then he sped up his horse. I was surprised how he could know my intentions. This was the beginning of me knowing who he may be. By this time there was no need for me to doubt the rumors I heard about him, what I saw the other in the staircase was all true meaning my eyes could not deceive me. There must be something extraordinary with him. By this time the weather had changed it was as if it was going to rain but it wasn’t, it was the evening weather meaning the night was drawing near. The evening started blowing us while we sped up towards the hills. The caravan sped up to be in the same lane with us, and then a guard said “My Highness it is dangerous for us to continue the journey we can make a tent and rest under Saint Algona garden.” He then nodded his head to agree with his guard. Soon the caravan came to a halt, two small but comfortable tent was raised for both of us and the guards. He didn’t seem to have been tired but I was. I went into the tent but I was hungry and I could not tell him my problem at this moment. After a while, I was taken away by sleep. My lady please wake up and have dinner, Amber said, I woke up to see a big woolen blanket on my body but did not know who covered me with the blanket but I knew it must be him because the guards were not allowed to come close to our tent. I woke up and took some slices of bread and two fish to eat but he did not eat with me I was not bothered about him. He only sat opposite me facing the fire that was set up to keep us warm. The way he was looking at me made me lose my appetite but before I went back to sleep I had one more question for him because I did not understand anything about him. “Thank you my Highness,” I said. You are welcome my lady he replied and this allowed me to key in my question. “What is the meaning of your name my Highness”, I asked because the name was not common among our people. In nature, he pauses while the guards enter to clear the mini table that was used to save my food. He then started from the beginning again, in nature, he looked at me and continued Amber acts as a natural purifier and can draw pain away from a body, the remaining meaning would be made known to you in the future”, he said, “Goodnight my lady have some rest so we can continue our journey tomorrow. He ended while leaving the tent for me to sleep alone. The name would be made known to you in the future, the statement kept on racing through my mind before I was taken away by sleep. The journey continued the next morning, this time the horses were put in a very high speed. He then instructed me to hold him tight at the waist to avoid me from falling. Within a twinkle of an eye, the caravan stopped, and then a guard informed us that we had arrived. Amber stepped out of the caravan and offered me his hand. I took it, and he helped me down. The castle was great and the garden was even more luxurious with green plants and colorful flowers. “Amber”, someone called and I turned my neck ninety degrees immediately to see who the person might be. Men in Royal robes approach us. “we are here to welcome you and your bride,” one of them said? “is that so?” Amber asked of course we are brothers after all. The other at his right smirked. Who could this man be ?, Why don’t you and your bride join us for dinner?”. One of them suggested. We would like to take a good look at your bride, he stated insinuatingly. Shooting a glance at me. Amber walked boldly to him and stood in front of him. Amber was a few inches taller than him. The guard behind the man whom I think might be his brother put their hand on their weapons as if to attack anytime. Looking at Amber's guard, they also did the same thing. What was all this about they didn’t seem to be brothers. “Thank you brother but your request is declined by me,”. Amber said in a more friendly tone that did not match their actions. Turning his back from his brothers he took my hand, gripping it hard as he dragged me through the Halls of the castle, his mood suddenly changed to that of anger. Won’t we greet your parents, my Highness? He did not answer me at first but reaching the center that divides the long hall of the castle into two, he stopped and said my mother died a long time ago. And the King does not show concern about me, it does not matter, he said with finality and started walking again. So am being married to a family where there is no peace, where hatred prevails, where even the father does not care about his son, but maybe there must be something behind their actions and I will get to know them now that am here. I said to myself. He stopped at the end of the long castle and said in a low tone, you don’t have to worry about anything, it is well taken care of. Again he had just read my thoughts, who could he be, I nodded with a smile on my face to check if it could wave away the anger on his face.
