Savannah Grace - The Meet up

351 Words
One of the many things I love about my son is that he's not a morning person just like me. When I finally get that good morning kiss, I know it's time to start our day. I kiss him back and roll over to check the time on my phone. It's just after 10am which is a typical morning wake up time for us. I notice my text box is up at the top of the screen so I click on it and open the message. Brayden: Hey! It was really nice talking to you yesterday. My dad needs me to help him with a few things so I'll be in town the weekend of the 18th. I leave Monday for a week long training but I was hoping maybe we can get together that day before I head out? I reply back to him trying to hold my excitement in. SG: Good morning. It was good talking to you too. So the 21st? I don't think we have anything planned that day so that should be ok. B: Great! We can figure out all the details soon. SG: Sounds good, I look forward to it! I can't believe that after all these years that I'm going to be seeing him again for the first time in 15 years. I put my phone down, roll over and grab Bentley in a bear hug snuggle. "What should we do today my angel?" We always are off on some adventure or another. As we get up and head upstairs for breakfast, I cannot conceal the smile on my face. This good mood continues throughout the day. Bentley and I decide to stay home and play today. We built towers with Legos, watched a little Elmo, snuggled up for a nap all before Riley gets home and it's time to start on dinner. As usual, Bentley positions himself where he can still see me but has a direct line of vision in the front door. He knows when I start dinner that it's almost time for Daddy to come home. My smart little kid.
