"Love mommy!" I open my eyes just as my 18 month old flings himself on top of me. "Well good morning to you my sweetheart! I love you too angel! Are you hungry?" "I humgry" he responds in the cutest toddler voice. "Should we go in the kitchen and get some breakfast?" He nods. I sweep him up giving him a big squeeze and cover him in kisses before lugging him into the kitchen to get breakfast for both of us. he giggles all the way there. All my life all I ever dreamt of was becoming a mommy. There was no other job in the world that I would rather be doing. For a while I didn't think my dream would ever come true but here I am with the cutest and most kind hearted toddler I could have ever asked for. I don't know what I did to deserve him but I'm so blessed to be his mommy. I wouldn't give up being his mommy for anything in the world. I sit him in his high chair and grab the oatmeal from the pantry. "How does oatmeal sound little man?" "Emeal!" "Ok, I'll take that as a yes" I say as I laugh out loud. I just love all his cute toddlerisms. I wish I could just keep him at this age for a few more years. I get out a pot and start the oatmeal. I'm one of those moms that takes pictures of every little thing and he is happy to comply. He's such a little ham, his favorite thing to do is to make people laugh. I get my phone out, turn the camera on and click away at all his goofy smiles. The oatmeal is done. I take some out and put it in a little bowl for him so it can start to cool while I'm getting mine ready. I add a little cinnamon and sugar to both bowls. I put a bib on him, blow on his oatmeal some more before placing the bowl and a spoon down in front of him. I sit down to eat mine and before I know it, he is covered in oatmeal. It's a good thing I stripped him down to just a diaper before starting this process. When we are both done, I all but hose him down in the kitchen sink, put a new diaper and a fresh set of clothes on him. We head back downstairs so I can get a shower before we start our day. I put in in his bouncy seat in the bathroom and step into the shower. Due to some unforseen circumstances with our rental house, we had to make an emergency move into my parent's basement while we look for another place to move into. It's only temporary but it's a good set up and just enough space for the three of us. I get out of the shower and grab my towel wrapping it around myself and head into the bathroom. Bentley is still happily playing with the things in his bouncy seat, he's such a good baby, I hope he stays like this forever. "What should we do today baby?" "Dada". "Dada is at work, he'll be home later. Should we go to the park?" Even though it's mid July, the weather is actually not bad today. Normally anytime after 10am, it would be too hot outside to do anything that doesn't involve water. Since he's a night owl, we are rarely up and ready to go before 10am. The two things that are Bentley's most favorite things are the swings and playing in water, he's an Aquarius baby just like his mama. We get loaded up in the car, I make sure I have all the necessities, diapers, wipes, extra change of clothes, water, snacks, toys, the list goes on. Gone are the days where I can just grab my purse and walk out. We are finally ready to go, I get him all buckled up and off we go! As soon as we pull up, he grabs my head and tries to pull me straight to the swings. "Hang on Bentley, let me grab everything." I open the trunk and get his stroller too just in case we decide to go for a walk. Then it's off to the swings! After a couple hours going between the swing and the slides, a little walk around the park and stopping for a picnic lunch, we are ready to go home for a nap. I load him and all of our stuff into the car and we head for home. Before we are even halfway there, he is asleep in the car. Nap time is for both of us today! We settle into my bed, my favorite thing is snuggling him. He barely wakes up when I transfered him into bed, just long enough to snuggle as close to me as possible. Before long, we are both asleep. We wake up almost 3 hours later! He was definitely a tired baby! "Did you have a good nap my love?" He gives me one of his huge grins, "Dada!" "No sweetie, say 'mama'. Dada isn't home yet. How about we go upstairs and get dinner started?" I pick him up, give him a kiss and we head upstairs. Spaghetti night is always a favorite in this house. I pull out the ground beef I had put in the refrigerator to thaw and set some water on the stove to boil. Dinner is almost ready when I hear the lock turn in the door. "Bentley. Who's that?" I ask him as he's happily playing with some cars on the kitchen floor. "Dada!!!" He squeals as he takes off in a toddle towards the front door. "Hey buddy!" he says as he scoops Bentley up in a hug before coming into the kitchen to give me a kiss. "Something smells good!"
