Chapter Three

Ivy came to school beaming with smiles. It was a Monday morning, the weekend has been beautiful and the best in her entire earthly existence .The day was cold and beautiful, full of hope, she was wearing a blue jean trouser and a white crop top. She was already naturally beautiful and wouldn't need any makeover to enhance her beauty, she only applied with powder with lip gloss. Her eyelashes were naturally long as though she attach fake lashes to it. At sixteen she already has the body of a grown woman, with all the curves in it right places. Talking of beauty she was unbeatably the most beautiful girl in college.

As she passed through the entrance to her class. She heard gossip and laughter. "Not again!" She said to herself, and this time all eyes were on her, she looked around and saw Luke, holding unto Tana hands, it was as though the ground will open and swallow her up. Yes! She has the power to send fire and brimstone on all her mockers but she was restrained. Her love for humans wouldn't let her. But this time she was confused not knowing what was going on.

Nara stood in the distance watching her, as her patient guide, she was confused too. Yes! She has powers but she wasn't the almighty to know what was going on in the minds of those pathetic humans. Ivy walked closer, her brain beginning to recollect as she saw the video in display at the school devotion hall. What in God's name was her video of her and Luke making out doing there she exclaimed. Painful sob began to come out from her lips.

For the first time in her life she cries. It was unusual for a mermaid to cry, Ivy wept as she lay on the floor, she has been used, betrayed. It was all a game. To them.... To toil with her heart, her emotions... her love... Oh! The pain was too much. She has endured pain, shame, abuse and betrayal. But it has never made her felt this way. Maybe this one was different because it has to do with her feeling. The feelings for a man who only uses her as a pawn to satisfy his girlfriend who hates her so much

Her heart was shredded into pieces. One thing she hated about this school was the fact it was a school for the elites in the society, teachers has little or no say in the things the students does. So children rules and their words were final, little wonder must of the student were so dumb despite all the infrastructure and the school being equipped to international standard to compete with any high school in the world

Nara watched as the unusual thing happens, immediately the cloud gathered in the sky as there was a mighty thunder storm. Ivy scream and suddenly the entire school was thrown into confusion, with students and teachers shutting their ears with their finger. They all fell down as they were largely effected by Ivy's wailing.

The whole students standing around Ivy began to bleed from their eyes and ears. Nara realised Ivy was not in her normal senses, she came to her and pull her by the hands. Carrying her away from her tormentors.

Nara brought her to her mansion in the high sea coast. And put her on her bed made of ivory. There was water surrounding it and fishes swimming around it. The floor was made with marble tiles and it shines and glisters like the stars in the sky. There was nothing compared to the beauty of the room. The walls were decorated with diamond and the mattress was soft and soothing, Ivy slept on it unaware of her surroundings. Nara has already poured a sleeping portion in the drink she gave her while in her unconscious state.

While she weep over what her school mates did to to her, she had sing the mermaid song. The song of agony. The song that bring pains to humans. And while in her misery and pain she had fallen into unconsciousness. Before Nara carried her away.

Back in standard high school the whole school was in uproar as news of what happened has circulated the entire country. Parents and guardians rushed into the school to check on their children as parents of students who were unable to attend school that Monday were thankful their wards were safe.

Nothing of such as ever happened in the history of the school and people wondered what mysterious ailment must have befallen the student. There were different twist as to what actually happened, many says if was a flu outbreak, while others says God judgement as already started on the children of the school since there parents were those crippling the society by syphoning monies which was suppose to be used for the betterment of the society. Thereby leaving the masses in abject poverty with a greater percentage of the population unable to afford basic amenities.

Meanwhile in all this, none of the student were able to tell the story of what really happened as the s*x tap of Ivy and Luke being displayed that morning was magically removed by Nara. And the memory of the student wiped out so they wouldn't be able to remember Ivy song that caused the pandemic in the school.
