Chapter four

Ivy woked up oblivious of her surroundings, she could remember being in the school compound and everyone mocking at her, but she couldn't remember how she got to the high sea coast. " It must have been Nara" she thought' her ever faithful spirit guide. She remembered singing the mermaid song and how everyone around her panicked.

Remembering her ordeal back at standard high school she quickly jumped up from her sleep. Now everyone will know she is half mermaid, a part she was not supposed to show to the world. Nara reading her thought, immediately walked up to her, "You don't need to worry my Queen, I wiped there memory and non of them will be able to remember a thing that happened yesterday."

Ivy sighed, a sigh of relief, as her mind wondered back to Luke, he could see his face staring at her as others mocked her, but looking dip through his mind she saw this web of unhappiness surrounding him. She could sense his misery, but one thing she couldn't understand was why he did what he did. Or could it be that he loved Tana so much that he would do anything for her? Or could it be Tana has been the one that put him up what he did?

She had taught he loved her, the one week they have spent together as been great, and their feelings for each other was real, she could read his mind and atleast knows he really felt something for her. But why the coldness, why the hate why the embarrassment and acting as though he never cared.

She was brought back to reality, by the voice of her maid who stood before her, holding a cup of tea. She was wearing a white short gown, she was slender and very beautiful.

" My Queen" she says as she bow to give her the cup.

Ivy took the cup from the maid and drain out the content in it, while lying back to continue in letting her mind wonder in various thought. The maid waited untill she emptied the content in it as she took the empty cup and disappeared into one of the rooms

It was a Sunday morning and Luke as just waken up with his head banging as though they there forces fighting inside his head. He has just waken up from a dream were he was being chased by mermaids, he woke up breathing like someone who just finished a 100 metre race. He was in one of the hospital wards with Tana sitting beside him. She seem not to be affected by the pandemic and he was worried what must have caused such strange outbreak in the first place, he wondered if Ivy was also safe.

He remembered watching her being mocked by the student, he could feel her sad countenance, her confusion, then he saw her fell to the floor weeping.... Crying.... It was all his fault, proudly sponsored by Tana to rubbish Ivy.

After the day he kissed her in the school garden, Tana had been very angry with him and then, to plan her revenge on them she had made him pretend to be interested in her inorder to woo her into his bed. Tana had planted the secret camara in his room before Ivy came visiting. Tana has threatened to reveal to the student who he really was if he had refused to go ahead with her plans .

"What are you thinking about?" Tana asked Luke

"Nothing," he replied absent mindedly. " Don't pretend, you are with me but your mind is off."

Or are you thinking about that b***h?"

"Not now Tana, you can see I am in pain, this is not the time for this please,"

Tana sigh and left Luke in the hospital, he tried calling her back but she refused to answer and instead hurriedly left the ward he was lying critically in. As Tana walked through the wards of the hospital she could see the student as they lie ill on their bed. In a particular ward, an elderly woman of about 65 was heard crying, she had just lost her granddaughter, who was also a student of Standard High School . Tana sighed feeling unremorsed she walked into another ward.

There was a man in there of about 40 years old, sitting beside him was his wife of about 38 years old. The woman was caring for his daughter who was vomiting uncontrollably. " Doctor please help me! Help my daughter, she is my only child." She cried uncontrollably as she hold unto the female doctor as though her life depends on it .

" We are trying our best ma'am, series of test has already been made, and we are not yet able to acertain what the problem is, we are only glad it's not a communicable disease. All you need to do now is to pray for her recovery, but am sure she will be fine, as our team of doctors from the United States of America are coming in this afternoon." The woman gave out a sigh of relief as she looked at her daughter who was lying helplessly on the bed.

Tana left the hospital as she went straight into her car, she was driving as though someone was chasing her, she immediately packed the car at the nearby bushes as she hurriedly ran into a nearby river. Unknowingly to her she was been followed by two of her friends, they saw her jumped out of her and hurriedly ran towards the river, as they waited for her but didn't see her come out of the river they became worried that something bad might have happened to her.
