Jack laid down his gear then crawled under a bush and became comfortable. His brothers were surprised by his actions because they were on a mission and could not understand why skipper wanted to sleep. No one could do anything until the area was quiet and deserted enough for them to enter so Jack decided to take advantage and catch up on much needed sleep.
Johan was concerned and questioned his skipper because he was neglecting his duties as the leader of the team. Jack explained that he was going to sleep because the next few days were going to be long and hard with little to no sleep. He suggested to the rest of his team that they did the same then informed Johan that by questioning his skipper, he successfully won first watch and had to wake Kobus in 30 minutes.
