Jenna sat tensely on the bridge, her breathing faster than she wanted, as the shuttle slipped away from the Defender and started to move toward the object. It was moving frustratingly slowly, but the last thing she wanted was for it to be mistaken for some form of weapon. Half of her still wanted to increase the Defender’s shields in case of a violent reaction by the large object, but she resisted. What sort of message would that send? Increase her shields just as she sent something flying at it? If she’d been on the receiving end of that she’d sure as hell be suspicious.
