Jenna studied the station as the Defender slowly closed in on it. To her surprise it seemed in perfect condition, with no signs of having been attacked at all.
She’d subconsciously expected it to be damaged despite the probes showing it was not a complete wreck. But this… this raised a lot more questions, including why the station was near-dormant if it wasn’t damaged.
She was glad she’d chosen to approach slowly. The station seemed quiet, with very little power flowing, but that didn’t mean it was defenceless. Given all the destruction throughout the system she knew she’d be likely to shoot first and ask questions much later if she was the one on the station.
