The flight back to the Defender in the shuttle felt even longer than the flight out had. Jenna had to fight against the black cloud threatening to enclose her mind in order to care enough to pick the route she needed to stay safe.
Was this how it was going to be wherever she went? Even if she managed to escape this system somehow, and that seemed unlikely, would she just find another like it?
