Jenna just stared for long seconds. So did the woman. She looked to be a similar age to Jenna, with skin so dark it almost had a bluish sheen. She had long hair cascading around her face, hair which was so shockingly blond it contrasted sharply with her skin.
The woman recovered before Jenna. She smiled, and spoke.
“Hello! I can’t believe you’re here! I picked up a faint signal, but I wasn’t certain it was actually anything more than a sensor ghost. But you’re here! Come in. Please come in.”
Jenna did, taking several steps into the room. Then the woman held her hand up.
“Please forgive me, but don’t come any closer. Not yet. I don’t wish to seem inhospitable, but I have been here for so long with no contact. I feel I should be at least a little cautious.”
