The shuttle’s outer airlock door opened, revealing the Tagrale’s outer door. Jenna tried opening it using the normal controls, just in case, but the door remained stubbornly closed.
She had a moment of déjà vu which she couldn’t place at first, then she remembered the system where she’d been stuck until the truly exotic aliens activated the Tagrale for her. Had they locked that Tagrale down in a similar way?
Possibly. She had no way of knowing, but it did give her some confidence that the information from Hayley might actually work. She pulled out the second datapad and pulled up the program Hayley had supplied, then tensed as she activated it.
She hadn’t needed to make any physical connection. Whatever was happening, or supposed to happen, would do so via transmitted signals. Was
