Jenna stood still, wanting to see if the distorted cube was just reacting to her movements. Nothing happened for some time… then the blocky shape edged toward her. She took a step back… and it stopped. For a time. Then it edged closer again.
Was it herding her? It seemed to be trying to move her toward the other door. But why? And what was it? Was it some form of robot? Or could it actually be alive?
Whatever it was, it was edging closer again. Jenna glanced over her shoulder then moved back again, but at an angle this time so she’d reach the wall beside the door and not the door.
