Blurb

Lyriana Vale had always lived a quiet life in her village, far from the legends whispered in the shadows. But when a festival night erupts into chaos, a dragon descends from the dark forest, and a mysterious, dangerously magnetic man intervenes, her life is thrown into flames she never expected.

Kaeltheron Drakaris, the Dragon Lord, rules with power, fire, and a heart hardened by centuries of betrayal. Possessive, alpha, and terrifyingly captivating, he sees something in Lyriana that even she cannot understand. Marked by fire and drawn to his world of dragons, magic, and political intrigue, she is forced to confront her destiny and the forbidden pull between them.

As rival kingdoms rise, ancient secrets awaken, and magical powers stir within her, Lyriana must choose: stay safe in the human world or embrace the danger and desire of the Dragon Lord.

Dark, epic, and full of tension, Flames of the Dragon Lord is a slow-burn fantasy romance where hearts ignite, kingdoms burn, and love is worth risking everything… even your life.

Chapter 1 – Fire in the Moonlight
Festival lights flickered over the village square, turning the cobblestones gold and red, but Lyriana Vale barely noticed. She used to love the festivals, the music, the laughter in the cool night, but tonight, a strange unease tugged at her. She wandered past the stalls, her fingers brushing the polished wood of the stands, the aroma of roasted chestnuts and sweet pastries filling the air. Children darted between the crowds, chasing each other with reckless abandon, while fire dancers twirled with flames that mirrored the glimmer of her racing heartbeat. Then she heard it. A low, rumbling growl that vibrated through the ground beneath her boots. It was faint at first, almost drowned out by the music, but it grew, a dark pulse threading into the festival’s jubilant rhythm. Her chest tightened, a shiver tracing her spine. Lyriana froze. The villagers carried on, oblivious, but instinct prickled at her senses. Somewhere beyond the lantern-lit tents, on the shadowed edge of the forest, the growl rose again, sharper this time. And then she saw it. An enormous shape, gleaming scales catching the moonlight, sliding through the treeline. Its eyes burned like molten gold, intelligent and ancient, and its wings unfurled in a shadow that swallowed the nearest stalls. People screamed, scattering like frightened birds. Fire ignited the night sky as it drew nearer, a living storm of heat and smoke. Lyriana’s heart hammered. She wanted to run, yet her feet felt rooted. The creature advanced, its growl deepening into a roar that shook the air and rattled her chest. She could feel its power, raw and indifferent, and yet somehow… aware of her presence. Before she could cry out, a shadow blazed across her line of sight, and the dragon halted mid-step. A figure leaped between her and the creature, tall and commanding, radiating a strength that made her stomach tighten. Cloaked in black, with a presence that seemed to bend the very light, he moved with unnatural grace. “Step back!” he commanded, his voice low but unyielding. The dragon snarled at him, a deep rumble that seemed to speak of ancient grudges and fiery dominion. Lyriana’s breath caught. His eyes, emerald green, impossibly bright, locked onto hers. There was danger in them, raw and unfiltered, yet a strange, magnetic pull that made her chest ache. In the blink of an eye, he extended a hand, and the dragon recoiled, tilting its massive head as if wary of this human who dared to challenge it. Flames licked the edges of the stalls, and the crowd’s screams rose, but she couldn’t look away. The man, or whoever he was, moved closer to her, shielding her as the dragon’s tail lashed toward her. She stumbled, tripping over a loose cobblestone, and he caught her in a strong, unyielding grip. The heat of his body pressed against her back, firm and controlled, and her breath hitched at the proximity. “Stay close,” he whispered, almost a growl. “Do not move unless I say so.” Lyriana’s pulse thundered in her ears. There was fear, yes, but also something else, something dangerous and thrilling. Her heart betrayed her, racing in a way that had nothing to do with the immediate danger. The dragon circled, massive wings folding and unfolding with precision, muscles rippling beneath scales that gleamed like burnished copper. Lyriana could see every sinew, every claw, the brilliance of fire dancing along its spine. She had read stories, heard legends, but nothing had prepared her for this. Nothing. And then the man moved. He didn’t just step forward; he flowed. Each motion was lethal poetry. His cloak whipped in the wind, his voice cut commands in a language she didn’t understand, yet the dragon responded not obediently, but with a begrudging acknowledgment of his power. Sparks of flame met the tips of his fingers, and for a moment, Lyriana thought the night itself had caught fire. Her stomach lurched as she realized something terrifying: he wasn’t just protecting her. He was controlling the uncontrollable. And in that control, in that raw display of dominance, there was something utterly… irresistible. The dragon hesitated, uncertainty flickering in its molten eyes, before it finally roared in frustration and backed toward the forest’s edge. The man didn’t release her. His grip was tight, commanding, and she felt an unspoken warning vibrating between them: Stay close, and you may yet survive. Step away, and the flames will consume you. When the dragon finally disappeared, leaving only the scent of smoke and scorched earth, the crowd slowly began to gather again, whispering, trembling. Lyriana’s legs shook as she struggled to steady herself. He turned to her at last, and for the first time, she saw his face fully. Sharp, almost otherworldly features framed by dark hair that shimmered like onyx in the moonlight. High cheekbones, a jawline that could cut stone, and eyes, those green, piercing eyes that held secrets older than any legend she had ever heard. His gaze lingered on her, intense, evaluating, and for a moment, the world seemed to narrow until it was just the two of them. Lyriana’s breath caught again. Something deep within her whispered that meeting him was no accident. That she had been pulled, somehow, into a story far larger, far more dangerous than she could imagine. And that her life, her very soul, was somehow entwined with his. “Who… who are you?” she managed to whisper, her voice trembling not entirely from fear. He didn’t answer immediately. Instead, his lips curved into the faintest, almost imperceptible smile, one that promised both danger and… something forbidden. Then, almost as if the night itself obeyed him, he stepped back into the shadows, and Lyriana glimpsed moving scales glinting briefly in the moonlight, the unmistakable flicker of fire along sinewed limbs. Her stomach lurched. His form… shifted. Not completely human. Not fully dragon. And then, just as quickly, he was gone, swallowed by darkness. Lyriana stumbled backward, gripping her chest, her heart hammering. The village square was quiet now, the festival lights flickering like weak stars against the night. But she knew, deep down, that nothing would ever feel safe again. A shiver ran through her. Her pulse screamed in her ears. And then, as she bent over, trying to catch her breath, she saw it: a single green scale, gleaming faintly in the moonlight, lying at her feet. Her fingers trembled as she picked it up. And at that moment, the impossible truth settled in her chest like a weight of fire: The dragon… the man… they were one. And she was already caught.
