He proposed at the kitchen table of Bianca's Mouraria apartment on a Tuesday evening with a ring he'd had made by a jeweller in the Baixa, a plain gold thing with a single small stone that looked exactly like Bianca and nothing like the rings you saw in proposals that were designed to be photographed.
