When Julianna Ortega woke up after a night of passionate lovemaking with a slight hangover, she had no regrets. Joshua was the man of her dreams, and she was happy she had finally relaxed enough to be intimate with him. But she is shocked to learn she hadn't spent the night with her boyfriend of 6 months, but a handsome stranger she's never met!

James Kingston is shocked to wake up and find a woman he's never met in his bed. When answers come out that her presence was arranged by his erratic and eccentric girlfriend, James agrees to pay anything to keep the innocent looking beauty quiet.

But even a year away from the States does not manage to wipe the beautiful woman he spent one passionate night with from his mind and in the interest of making sure she is well he hires a private detective to search for her... only to be shocked when the pictures he is brought show the same beautiful woman with a baby who looks remarkably like him. As an heir to not only his family's throne, but also his multibillion-dollar companies, he tells himself he must confront her and protect them both the best way he knows how.

But will stubbornly independent Julianna agree to his plan? Will the King even accept the marriage of one of his sons to an American woman who does not seem to know her place? And what happens when their world is flipped upside down and difficult decisions must be made...

When dreams come crashing
‘Ehh, is that my phone?’ I thought, rolling towards the bedside table and grappling with the lamp to get a little light in the dark room. ‘Ah ha!’ My fingers found the switch, flicking it on I instantly regretted the decision, the blinding light causing me to hiss and throw an arm over my eyes. Big f*cking mistake! The pounding in my head was brought to an all-time high as the light sent shards of pain through my skull. Hang overs and light do not mix well apparently. Of course, last night was the first time I had ever been drunk. Despite being twenty-five years of age, I had never let loose enough to allow myself to become so inebriated. My goals for the life I wanted were my number one priority. School, college, securing the perfect job, husband, house, kids: In that order. After graduating from high school three years early, all due to me working my ass off since 6th grade, I managed to graduate college two years ahead of schedule. Now I was one of the youngest aspiring VPs in my company, but getting there meant never taking time off, never partying, and never letting loose. It appeared to have caught up to me and I was paying the price. All I drank last night was three glasses of wine at dinner, at least, I think that’s all I had? Which is more then I normally have, but geez, I feel like the rock mining going on in my head is a bit much as far as punishments go. *Ring Ring-Ring Ring* There’s that sound again. My eyes fall on a phone on the bedside table. I don’t own a home phone. Glancing around the room I realized I’m not at my home, but in a nice hotel room. Then it all comes back, rushing into my mind like a bad movie. Jennifer giving me a key card and telling me to go to room 1203, she told me that Joshua was there, waiting on me. I’d been so excited. Joshua and I had been dating for 6 months and I just knew he was the one. He was as motivated and career driven as I was, and at twenty-nine was one of New York’s thirty under thirty to watch. He was handsome, career focused, intelligent and amazing in bed, if my few memories from last held true. I can’t believe I gave him my virginity while intoxicated. But really, the alcohol had helped me to loosen up and let it happen naturally. Our chemistry had been insane, and I regretted nothing. Just as I was turning to give him a kiss good morning the phone beside me rang again drawing my attention back to what had woken me in the first place. Grabbing the receiver, I reclined back on the pillows, letting my dizzy head cleared. “Umm, yes? Hello?” I mumbled, surprised at how rough my voice sounded. “This is Mr. Kingston’s wake up call.” Came a very posh feminine voice from the other end. Kingston? “I’m sorry, I think you have the wrong room, my boyfriend’s name is Mr. Harper.” I said rolling back over to hang up the phone, but the ladies voice rose and spoke again. “No ma’am, that room is registered to Mr. Kingston, it’s his private suit when he’s in town.” She sounded frustrated this time, like there was more she wanted to say but she was choosing to remain professional. “That’s impossible…” Trailing off as I turned to really look at the man beside me in the light for the first time. What I saw had me dropping the phone receiver and scurrying out of the bed so quick I got tangled in the sheets and fell in a lump to the floor. “Sh*t!!” I grumbled, pulling the sheets from my head and trying to unwrap myself from the blanket. “Who the hell are you?” A deep, gravelly voice demanded above me. I froze, afraid to look up, afraid to make this all real. “I asked you a f*cking question!” He demanded, voice rising. I cringed still refusing to raise my eyes, letting my dirty blonde hair fall around me like a current. Even in the odd and rather nerve-wracking predicament, I noted that there was an accent to his voice that made my body heat. “I- I’m… it doesn’t matter, this is clearly all a mistake.” I managed to say before fully untangling myself from the bed set and rushing to where my clothes were thrown over a chair near the dresser. I remembered removing them, telling myself that going to bed completely naked would be the best way to entice Joshua. I grabbed my panties from the floor and pulled on the tiny piece of black silk in a flash, shuffling through my clothes for the matching bra. Still refusing to meet his gaze, but I could hear him moving, I assumed he was getting dressed as well. “I don’t understand what you are doing here. No one is supposed to have access to this room except for me and my girlfriend.” His voice came from much closer to me then I would have expected. I could feel the heat radiating from his body and I shivered, unsure of what was happening. Or what he was going to do. “I’m sorry, I don’t know who you are, and I don’t know how I got here. A colleague told me my boyfriend was in this room and gave me a room card.” I mumbled, pulling my black lace bra on with nervous fingers. Once it was in place, I tried to grab my dress, but his large hands were on my shoulders spinning me round to face him. I knew what he’d see. Long dirty blonde hair falling past my shoulders, big brown eyes, high cheek bones and Cupid bow lips all in a heart shaped face. I’d been told often enough I was beautiful to know it was true, but under his gaze I felt like Cinderella before her fairy godmother turned her into a princess. Besides, a man who looked like him must date models and actresses, I would be nothing to him. But would I mind if he did find me of interest? He was by far one of the most handsome men I’d ever seen. With an aristocratic face, strong jaw covered in black and grey stubble, straight nose, and gloriously blue eyes, I don’t think I had ever seen such blue eyes on a person before. It was hard to tell what his lips looked like as they were currently pressed into a tight line. His black hair was disheveled and peppered with grey like his five o’clock shadow. What was I thinking? No. I couldn’t find him attractive, that just made all of this that much more awkward. “Stop with the games. How did you get here? What do you what?” His grip on my shoulders grew painful and I felt tears spring to my eyes as my heart raced. I was basically naked in front of a man I didn’t know, and from the look of the muscles on his almost bare body, he was much stronger than me. Not to mention the fire in those icy eyes told me he was pissed. “I don’t know how I got here, and I don’t want anything. Please just let me leave!” My voice was much softer than I had intended, but I wasn’t surprised, I was scared out of my mind. “Bull s**t!” He shouted in my face. His mouth opened to say more but a tune started playing across the room. He glanced towards it, then back at me, narrowing his eyes. “Don’t move!” When he let go of my shoulders, he gave a little shove and I stumbled back, catching myself on the arm of the chair beside me. Grabbing my clothes, I threw them on as fast as I could not caring if they were on right, just that I was dressed to leave this horrid nightmare. “Hello.” He demanded as he answered his phone. Turning to watch me with a scowl on his handsome face. “Yes Giselle? I’m a little busy right-“ He froze mid-sentence, blue gaze flickering away from me and his face softening, a shocked look replacing his angry expression. “What do you mean gift?” His voice was lower now, surprised. “Giselle what the f**k?! That isn’t a gift! In fact, I’m pretty sure it’s illegal!” He was stage whispering into the phone, turning his back on me as he moved towards one of the doors in the room that I assumed were the bathroom and closet. After walking into the bathroom and shutting the door behind him I rushed to slip my shoes on and buckle them. I could hear him mumbling to the woman on the other end, but I didn’t care what they were talking about. All I wanted to do was disappear. ‘Where the hell is my phone at!’ I thought as I rose to my feet and started searching around the room, which I now realized was much larger and nicer than any hotel room I’d ever been in. As I admired a beautiful painting on the wall, I heard the bathroom door click open. Staying frozen in place I listened anxiously to his bare feet pad across the carpeted room. ‘Please don’t hurt me, please don’t hurt me, please don’t hurt me.’ I chanted in my head, stiffening as I heard him stop a short distance behind me. “Hey, I’m sorry…” He mumbled, clearing his throat, I cautiously turned to look at him, staying a distance back. Mr. Kingston had one large hand in his hair and was looking at me like he was confused as to what to do next. “This is a big misunderstanding.” “Like I said.” I heard myself whisper, drawing his blue gaze to my lips and a smirk to his own. “Uh, yeah, like you said. Anyways… I’d still rather all of this stayed quiet. I don’t need the media involved, I’m sure you understand…” He trailed off, watching me, waiting for a reaction. But I had no idea what he was talking about. “I can pay for your silence?” My eyes got wide again as he turned around and ruffled through a pair of black suit pants on the floor, drawing out a billfold. Flipping it open he slid a pen out of it and looked up at me expectantly. “Two million?” I didn’t realize they could, but my eyes grew wider. “No? Three million?” What the f**k? Who was this guy? “Five million is more than fair.” He said, nodding his head as if this met with his approval. Who the hell gave away five million dollars? His fingers flew across the check book before he ripped the small piece of paper out and handed it to me. “Sorry about all of this… but thank you for keeping it quiet.” He slipped the check in my hand, and I just looked at it, blown away by everything that had happened. “I’m going to….” I mumbled before walking past him and to the door, pushing the handle down and opening it, but I paused when I heard him speak up again. “Wait, what is your name? I never got your name?” His eyebrows were drawn together in question, and I felt tears welling up in my eyes as the reality set in of what had happened. “Julianna.” I whispered before walking out the door, letting it click softly closed behind me. I felt as if my entire life had just changed. If it was for the best or the worst, I had no idea.
