A Star is Born
It was night at a certain manor owned by an esteemed knight. The mood was tense that night; servants and pages running back and forth to attend to the pregnant lady of the house. Said lady was expecting a boy child and was already going into labor the whole morning prior. The lord of the house, the lady's dear husband, was barking all kinds of orders while overseeing the attending midwifes.
"Lord Auros, the boy, he is coming!", exclaimed a knight.
"Take me to the chambers, quickly! I shall see my precious boy be born into this world.", he replied. Both broke into a sprint, armor pieces clanking and capes fluttering with the motion. As they hear the noise of the lady grunting and yelling, they quickened their pace. When they arrived, both were catching their breath, arriving just in time to see her giving the final push. Just mere moments later, the newborn baby was out in the open, in all its fleshly glory.
"Lord Auros, here's our boy...ain't he beautiful?", gushed the lady despite her weariness.
"Milady Celestine...", gushed the lord back.
"What shall we name him?", asked Celstine.
"Holos. Holos Azurestar." declared the lord surely, but quietly. "That will be his name. The name to supplant our legacy as Polaria's finest knight family. He may not look it now, but with the right steps...he shall be the finest knight Aurorai has ever seen!" he proclaimed firmly.
"I trust you, milord, my love.", Celestine said, smiling as the midwives handed the newborn child to his mother. The lord then sidled onto the bed, beside his wife. They were both quietly admiring how peacefully their son slumbered in the moonlight gleaming through the large window of the chamber.
That moonlight just became more enchanting when it glowed into beautiful colors. The people inside the chambers saw it and are in awe of the aurora's dancing lights which permeated the room.
"Milord, milady, can you see it?" inquired a midwife.
"Aye. The Celestium has blessed us. The Celestium has blessed our son." said the lady, smiling as she said so.
"The Celestium agrees with your declaration, Lord Auros." smiled the knight who was with him.
"For that, I cannot be any happier." gleamed the lord.
The night was spent taking care of the newborn son under the dancing lights of the aurora, and soon, father, mother, and child slept soundly under the beautiful night lights, without much event.
The next day, the family woke up to a gleaming morning, sunlight peering through the room's great windows. Lady Celestine held Holos the whole night in her arms. Lord Auros meanwhile, has gone off to take a bath in the nearby lake with his retainer who was apparently named Azul, along with his personal retinue. The handmaidens meanwhile tended to the mother and son, feeding and bathing the child while the mother waits. In addition, they were cleaning up the mess from birthing the boy.
Around noon, the lord returned to the chambers where his wife and son were, much to the lady's delight.
"My love, never have I been thrilled to hunt for either sport or food!" gushed the lord. "The thought of hunting for my wife and son's sustenance has never motivated me like this before!" declared the man loudly. The baby reacted to the noise of his father, earning the latter's attention.
"Ohoho, hello little boy!" said Lord Auros. "who's gonna be the best knight in Polaria? That you are!" cooed the man at his son. The little one replied with his own baby noises, much to the amusement of his mother.
"Hey, don't go putting pressure on the little boy this early!" weakly protested Celestine, chuckling. The man just chuckled back in agreement, continuing to play with his son, only interrupted by his men coming in to report things from time to time. By the time night fell, activity inside the manor, though it was not as busy as last night. As the lady cannot eat yet nor drink anything, the lord just opted to take his dinner by himself, in his wife's room. He was done quick, as he opted for a light dinner so he can attend to his wife as soon as possible.
Late night came, and the manor was starting to quiet down as its occupants were finishing their tasks. However, in the master's chambers, where the family was having their quiet moments, something unusual happened. The child's eyes glowed a bright white for all but a passing second. That moment didn't escape the mother's eyes.
"Lord Auros, our son...he might be more than we both expect." Celestine quietly told her husband. "His eyes...they shined for a second..." she trailed off.
"Did he? Hey...maybe I am underestimating my son..." Auros pondered.
The couple spent the rest of the night pondering what just happened in that second, thinking about the future feats their son can achieve.
