The candle flickered as Daisy hunched over her notes eyes heavy with exhaustion. In the silence of the small room on the city's outskirt, the only sound was the scratching of her pen and the weight of hope pressing on her chest. Tomorrow was the scholarship exam her last shot of entering University. You've got this Daisy,Clara had whispered earlier in class, handing her a lucky charm. But even Clara didn't know how badly Daisy needed this win. The next day she sat nervously in the classroom beside her best friend Clara. The invigilator walked in and handed out the questions paper. Daisy's hand trembled, but she forced herself to breathe as she had studied hard she was ready.clara had also applied for the scholarship but both girls knew only a few candidates would be picked. it was the most Prestigious University in Africa winning meant everything ,Daisy wrote her final answers with hope in her heart. maybe just maybe she would get the scholarship.clara prayed that if she didn't get the scholarship her friend Daisy would. Neither could imagine what the future held. Next morning , daisy woke up with a fever ,she lazily stood up from her bed and went to do the household chores. Her aunt would beat her if she found out she hasn't cooked for her daughter.linaa and her daughter practically treat her like a maid ever since her uncle Raichand died. Flashback she always remember her uncle words as he fondly called her dee ' don't blame your parents deaths on yourself. but literally how can I not blame myself when everyone else blames me . They called her lots of names , people stayed away from her saying she is bad luck she doesn't have any friends at school all the friends she had stayed away from her , she couldn't forget the words one of her closest friends said to her stay away daisy l don't want my parents to die because of you. Until God gave her Clara her best friend, Clara cared for her and stayed with her when no was willing to stay. Flashbacks ends.
