The two sweaty bodies abruptly disengaged from each other, their faces mirroring each other with shock and guilt clearly written on them. “La..Lara.” Jake stuttered, his eyes still hazy with lust. He tossed the thick white blanket aside, almost stumbling as he rushed down from the bed to his feet. Unable to withold myself from grimacing at the sight of his nude body, he immediately recognized his mistake and quickly sat back down on the side of the bed. His partner, who I had come to know as Ellie made to reach for his arm but he shoved her aside as though he hadn't been the one plunging into her some seconds ago like she stole some gold bars of his. Whatever. “I want a divorce.” I announced. Without waiting to see his reaction, I turned on my heels and made to take my leave. “Wait, Lara. I can explain.” Jake called from behind, getting up again without minding his nudity. A sickening feeling engulfed me as I turned to take a look at the man I had once chosen for myself. Explain? Did he think he could fix all that had happened with mere words? Right after I had caught him red-handed? How did I not recognize I crossed my arms against each other, straightening myself up to take a good look at his face in an expressionless gaze. “The last time I checked, my husband is presently on a business trip in New York City. So who are you?” I questioned with an even tone, setting my face in a blank expression not wanting to give him the pleasure of him seeing me being affected by his cheating ass. His face paled. “Anyways, he would be back in three days. Inform him that I dropped these.” I paused, gesturing towards the file. “And sorry for interrupting your wonderful session.” I made sure to lace my last sentence with a heavy dose of nonchalance and without hesitation, I turned to leave. “Lara, wait. We can talk about this.” He took hold of my arm, releasing it the very moment I shot him a deathly glare. “Baby, I'm sorry.” He apologized with a gaze that I knew too well by now to fall for. “I have nothing to say to you. As a matter of fact, I have zero issues with you. These divorce papers are to be signed by Mr Jake Anderson who's currently out of town. ensure you get that file across to him.” I spat, with rage beginning to seep into my voice just as the time his little mistress decided to show herself feel important by wrapping herself around his bare waist. “Get your hands off me!” He spoke to her sharply, his jaw set in irritation scaring off his little side piece. I was not ninterested in watching their show of shame so I turned to leave. “Baby, wait!” Before I could realize, my palm connected to his face, pissed at how roughly he grabbed my arm. “Sign the divorce papers, Jake!!” I hissed, leaving him shocked and finally being able to walk away from him. As I relaxed into the passengers seat of my car, I inhaled a single deep breath to calm nerves. This went harder than I thought. “How did it go, madam?” Johnson, my ever so loyal (that is, until he proves me wrong) driver asked, peering at me through the starring mirror. What was I supposed to say? Good? Did I really feel good seeing my husband, scratch that, soon to be ex-husband humping another woman on a bed that exclusively served us?
