Della’s pov

It’s been 7 months of dating Joe.

“We should have a baby.” What?! She snapped her head in joes direction. So did her brothers. They looked so amused. She was sitting at the table doing a puzzle with Jared. The other brothers were watching a football game with Joe. For once she was speechless. Where did that bomb come from?

“Um…”

“Before you say anything it’s a great idea.” Nick said interrupting her. Her other brothers seemed to agree.

“ I was going to say we should have this conversation later…. Privately…” she knows she was giving Joe a dirty look. He smirked. He loved surprising her. She checked the time. Speaking of babies… it was time for her birth control. “I’ll be right back.” She had nightly meds to take not just birth control. She got up and walked up stairs to her room. She went to her nightstand and sat on her bed. She grabbed out all her meds. Now for birth control. She could smell him. Her bed dipped then his hand grabbed her birth control.

“You don’t need that.” She turned around

“Give it back.” She was about to lose her patience. He seemed to think about that.

“Nah.” He threw it over his shoulder and pounced on her. They definitely didn’t have time for this.

“Hey we need to get back to my brothers.”

Joe started kissing along her neck. He had his b***r rubbing into her crotch. She wants that so bad.

“Pretty sure after my announcement they will be expecting us to be a little while.” She laughed

“If that’s what you want.” He sounded so disappointed. Oh well. That’s what she wanted. She still doesn’t have her cast off. She got it off and then it went back on within 2 hours. She doesn’t need to be on painkillers and antibiotics and steroids while being pregnant.

“More realistically when my cast is off. The doctor said another 5 months. I can’t be on all my meds while pregnant. They all say they can hurt the baby. I don’t want that.”

“I understand.” He still sounded disappointed.

“I’m sorry.” She was. “Any other time I would say heck yeah put a baby in me!”joe laughed. She had to admit the way she said it so funny. “But I don’t want to hurt the baby.”

“I get it.”

“If you get it then stop sounding disappointed.” He was getting on her nerves with his tone. He may want a baby but he has shown no signs of wanting to marry her. Was she really going to have a baby with someone who didn’t want to marry her? Now there were so many thoughts going through her mind!

“Sorry. I just think you will look really cute pregnant.” He kissed her then got off her and dressed and left her room. She went to her bathroom and took a shower. She put on sweat pants and a hoody. She walked downstairs back to the table. Jared smiled at her “welcome back hoe.” She laughed.

“You’re more of a hoe than me.” They kept their voices down. The guys were watching football. Jared just liked spending time with her. He brought over a water bottle to her. She opened it drank it.

“So how did the baby talk go?” He was her rock sometimes someone to talk to and he won’t judge.

“I need to be out of my cast and off meds. All of them will hurt the baby. So we aren’t even going to try yet.” She was a little annoyed with Joe for even bringing it up.

“But you’re okay with the idea?” He seemed to want to talk about it with her. And she loved talking about it with him. He wouldn’t judge her. He always made great points. She heard the sigh before she even realized it was going to come out. That was her silent plea for help. The calm before the storm of emotions.

“Hey Della and I are going to go get ice cream.” What?

“I can take her.” Joe was always so anxious for anytime with her.

“Um no. Once girls realize I’m ‘taken’ they go crazy for me. So help a brother out and stay here.” Della laughed. That was her brother.

“I need shoes.” She said they were all upstairs.

“Nah. I’ll carry you everywhere.” Joe came over to say good bye. He kissed her.

“Don’t have too much fun.” He went to the bathroom. Jared swooped her up and put her in his truck.

“So talk to me. What’s going through your head?”

“He hasn’t even shown signs of wanting to marry and he wants a baby. Do I really want a baby with a man that doesn’t want to spend his life with me? Also like I haven’t even lived yet! What about college? What about traveling? Do you know how hard all that will be with a baby?…” Jared grabbed her hand. He went through the drive thru. Something fruity for him and something with lots of caramel and chocolate for her. She did need to eat her feelings right now. Hers was like twice the size of his. He pulled over into a park. She climbed out his back window into the truck bed. Jared hopped in with her.

“I know you had plans. But 9 months ago they didn’t even include Joe. You’re flexible. Also I don’t think he’s unreasonable. If you explained all this to him I’m sure he would understand. I don’t think he’s going to force you to have one.”

“He hid my birth control.” Jared looked shocked.

“Oh he is dead!” She laughed.

“Have an honest conversation with him… but as for the marrying you part…” what did he know that she didn’t? She was sometimes annoyed that Joe was her brothers best friend. All of them! He was closer to nick but they were partners. “He wants to ask you to move in. That’s why he said a baby. If you were okay with a baby he was going to ask you to move in with him. Then after the baby he was going to ask you to marry him. He loves you. With everything in him. He does want to marry you. He’s not trying to push you though. He knows you said something about your age differences and he’s trying to be understanding. But girl you are driving him insane. He wants to be with you 24/7. Whenever we are on missions all he is thinking about is coming back to you. He’s anxious all the time. He relaxes so much with you. And you do with him. Whether you like it or not you guys are made for each other. So let him know everything going through your head. Be honest with him.” Again good advice.

“But what about Maddie?…”

“She’s well taken care of.”

“He doesn’t know she’s mine.”

“He has eyes right? She’s your clone. There’s no way he doesn’t know.”

“You know you’re annoying right?” He laughed.

“Hey I want what’s best for my little sister. I want to see you happy. I’ve never seen you as happy as you are with joe. Cruz made you happy yes but not like you are with Joe.” Very true. Della loves Joe in a way she never loved Cruz.

“I did that poor guy so dirty. He still messages me. Checking up on me.”

“He’s a good guy. He also wants to see you happy. He was surprised you even said yes to marrying him. He didn’t think you guys were that serious.”

“Well neither did I. I thought if I did my problems with Joe would go away. Within one week he destroyed my entire life… wait why do I love him again?” Jared laughed.

“Because he’s got a big d**k and he knows how to use it.” She started laughing so hard.

“Should I be concerned you think Joe has a big d**k?”

“Nah. I just wanted to see you laugh. I have no idea what size he is.”

“You’re close with the big dick.” He gagged. They finished their ice cream and just sat in the bed quiet. She laid her head on Jared’s shoulder.

“You doing better baby girl?” She was.

“You’ve calmed me again… maybe I should be having a baby with you.” He laughed.

“Respectfully no thank you. That’s a little weird for me.” She laughed. She looked up at her brother. “I love you.” He kissed her forehead.

“I love you too.” She felt so relaxed.

“No offense but I’m kind of sick of you and I’m sure Joe wants you back. He’s probably anxious and has evil plans with you.” She laughed. He grabbed her cup and put it in the trash. She climbed back into his truck. He drove home. The lights were off. The game must have ended or the guys have an early mission or training tomorrow. Joes truck was still here. He’s probably crashing in her room. She snuck upstairs with Jared. “Hey I love you. Talk to him.” Jared gave her a hug and kiss on the forehead and went to his room. She walked into her room. Her lamp was on. Joe was asleep in her bed. His snore giving him away. She looked at her night stand. He put her birth control there. She went over and took it. She walked into her bathroom. She peed and then brushed her teeth. She changed into sleeping clothes… well joes “dirty” shirt from today. It was folded on her sink. He knows she loves the smell of him. She took off her bra and underwear. Well thong. Make it easy on him. They’ve gotten use to each other and sleeping together. She turned the light off. Joe was sitting up in bed when she opened the door.

“You okay?” He looked concerned.

“Yeah why?” She climbed into bed. His little lustful expression didn’t go unnoticed.

“You didn’t answer any of my messages.”

“Truthfully I have no idea where my phone is. I haven’t seen it for 2 days.” He laughed. He wrapped his arms around her pulling her close.

“That’s a relief. I thought I made you angry.”

“Nope. I put my phone down somewhere and not sure where… honestly it’s probably at your house.” He laughed.

“Probably. Want me to go grab it?”

“Do you have a mission tomorrow?”

“No. 3 am training.” She hates those. But he always comes back and cuddles and they get to sleep in.

“Then I don’t need it.” She went to assume the position. She loved being spooned by Joe. His strong arms around her made her fall asleep most nights in seconds. He wrapped his arms around her. His hand resting on her stomach. One day it will have his baby. But for now it was just her and Joe.

“I’m sorry I ambushed you.” He sounded tired but he also sounded like he meant it.

“It’s okay.” She worked through it with Jared.

“One year… so like 150 ish days left… I’ll give you 160 days to be generous.” She laughed. He has started the countdown. She wasn’t surprised. It was always a countdown with this guy.
