It was her 18th birthday. Her 4 older brothers were busy setting the house up. “You know I don’t want to celebrate or have a big party.” She complained to Jared again. He smirked. None of her brothers were having any of her complaining. She was hoping if she could turn Jared he would turn the others. Make them all listen for once. “Too bad baby girl.” Jared said. Ugh! She sat down at the table. Her phone vibrated. She looked at it. ‘Happy birthday beautiful! Can’t wait to celebrate with you later!’ Della smiled. Her new boyfriend. Well he wasn’t new. They’ve been dating for almost a year. Now that she was 18 she was going to have s*x with him. He’s 19. They’ve been taking things insanely slow. He hasn’t even kissed her yet and she was hoping all that was going to change… but she doesn’t know when. She wanted to spend the day alone with Cruz. But her brothers had other plans. Cruz understood. He never fought her brothers for her time. He would ask if they had plans before he would ask her to do anything. She started to type something back. ‘They are being ridiculous! Do I get a say in … a message popped up on her phone… from joe?! ‘Happy birthday sweet girl.’ What the actual heck?! What should she do? Joes been quiet and gone for 2 whole years. No way that was still his number! ‘I’m sorry but you have the wrong number.’ She returned to the message she was typing to Cruz. She started over. ‘They are being ridiculous! You would think they would let me spend it the way I want!’ She locked her phone and put it face down. It vibrated. ‘Nice try little lady. Jared and Elton both told me this is definitely your phone number.’ Ugh. Whatever. She rolled her eyes slightly. She started typing. ‘I’m sorry but I don’t have this number saved in my phone.’ All a lie. Even if she didn’t have it saved in her phone she had it memorized. ‘I find that hard to believe. Do I need to text Jared and Elton asking them to check your phone?’ No. She could probably ask them to lie. Just then a hand touched her shoulder. She screamed and dropped her phone. “Hey calm down lady bug.” Uncle frank! She wrapped her arms around his neck. “What’s going on with you? I’ve been trying to get your attention for five minutes.” He said. Her phone vibrated. She grabbed it and shoved it in her pocket. “Sorry just messaging Cruz.” She said. “He’s probably sending inappropriate texts now that she’s 18.” Jared said. She rolled her eyes. Her phone started ringing. She removed it. It was joe. She declined it. She put her phone back in her pocket. “Well people will be here soon. I brought you your first birthday present.” Uncle frank said handing her a box. “I can’t wait to open it.” She said. “Open it now.” His tone was even. He looked excited. She opened the box. They were the cowgirl boots she had been wanting to buy but could never justify the price! She looked shocked. “ look inside.” Uncle frank said. He still looked excited. She lifted a boot. It felt like it had something in it. She reached her hand in. It was a pair of Levi’s and socks. She lifted the other one. There was a shirt and flannel. The v-neck was very low. “Thank you so much!” She put everything in the box and hugged her uncle. “Glad you like it. Now go change. Company will be here soon.” Uncle frank said. She grabbed the stuff and headed upstairs to her room. Her phone rang again. It was Joe again. She declined it. ‘ You know it’s rude to ignore people?’ She rolled her eyes. ‘I wasn’t ignoring you on purpose uncle frank came over and wanted to talk.’ She threw her phone on the bed. She went to the bathroom to do her hair and make up. Then when she was done she went back into her room. Her phone vibrated on her bed. ‘Any special plans today?’ Ugh. When will he leave her alone? ‘None that I planned.’ She wasn’t going to tell him about her party. ‘Oh? What did you want to do today?’ Weird question. Why was he suddenly interested in her? She’s known him 8 years and had probably had 5 words spoken to her by him. ‘I actually wanted to spend the day with my boyfriend. Instead my brothers had other plans.’ She started changing. She changed her bra from a sports bra. She chose the one that made Cruz get a lustful look with her. She put the v-neck on. It was deeper than she thought. It barely covered her bra. She slipped her jeans on then socks then the boots. Gosh her uncle knew how to pick an outfit.
