Chapter 18

Della’s pov

Her phone buzzed

‘Come on gorgeous come out and meet me at Jordan’s bar’

She smiled. Joe really wanted to see her. It has been a couple of weeks. They have both been busy. She finished peeing on the pregnancy test. She was feeling weird and hormonal. She ran out of birth control about 3 months ago. Joe had given less than subtle hints that he wanted to get her pregnant. She figured once she ran out she can just stop. Not tell him. Put no pressure on him. Or her. She’s heard horror stories from some of her friends and some of the seal wives. She didn’t want to fall into that trap with Joe. She wanted the experience to be amazing. And so far it has been. No pressure. Although he did have s*x with her like he was going to get her pregnant or at least die trying. She smirked. Her man has some serious baby fever.

‘I can’t I’m busy.’

She had a million things to do. The farm needed some work and she just got a foster horse. She made a lot of improvement with her.

‘Come on you got to eat. Just one hour.’

‘It’s not going to be hour. It’s going to be longer.’

Once she gets there they will eat… probably. Get distracted and then Joe will want her to go home with him then they will get distracted with each other. Let’s face it she had zero resistance with that man. But she did want to see him again. She put the test in her top drawer she will come back for it later. She hopped in her truck and showed up at the bar. She saw Joe in the window. A girl walked up to him and touched him. She seemed to get close and whisper something in joes ear. She grabbed his hand and pulled him up. She couldn’t believe it! Joe was cheating on her! She hopped back into her truck and went back home. She ran up the stairs. She opened the door. Jared was just coming down the stairs.

“What’s wrong?” She could feel the tears. How in the world did her brothers have this effect on her? Why did she always feel so safe with them?

“Joes cheating on me.” Jared wrapped his arms around her. The safest place for her to be.

“I’m sorry. Also I’m going to murder him!” There was a knock on the door.

“Della. We need to talk!” Joe. She looked up at Jared all panicky. She knows how to control her brothers. Jared looked angry. That was impressive he was a hard man to make angry. He pushed her gently towards the stairs. She walked up a couple of the stairs. Out of sight.

“She’s not here.” She heard Jared say as he opened the door.

“Her trucks here.” He’s not an i***t. Neither is Jared.

“All I know is I haven’t seen her. She has a horse. She loves that thing.”

“Can I wait for her to get home?” Joe seemed so desperate. She started running up the stairs.

“Della!” Joe pushed Jared out the way. Elton stepped in front of him. She knows he heard her.

“You need to leave her alone.” Elton sounded angry. Whenever it came to her Jared was level headed Elton just straight angry. Then there was nick. Over protective and always ready to hurt someone or help her. He swings either way depending on the amount of hurt caused to her by someone.

“Della please.” She turned around. He looked like he was so scared of losing her. She was done with him. He was a cheater. She finished the last couple of steps. She turned the corner and ran into nick.

“What’s wrong?”

“Elton move!” Joe hissed. That must have activated nicks protective instincts. Something in him seemed to snap. There was a look. It gave him away. And he had that look.

“Go to your room.” His voice was deep and low. Poor Joe. If she wasn’t so mad at him she would probably feel a lot worse for him.She ran to her room.

She slammed the door and locked it and then slid down it. Why would he do this to her?! She’s never loved anyone the way she loves Joe and he’s betrayed and hurt her! Her brothers messaged her they got a mission. She messaged them back. Then Joe messaged her. She didn’t respond at first. She went to her bathroom and opened the drawer. She didn’t have to pick it up to know it was positive.

‘I hate you! I don’t ever want to see you again! I hope you don’t come back!’

It was now going to be her and her baby. She reached down and touched her stomach. “I’m going to take good care of you.” She stripped and changed and went to bed.

Joes pov

He was waiting for Della to show up. If she didn’t in the next few minutes he was going to call her. He saw Sadie before she saw him. Gosh he can’t stand her. She saw him and smiled and came over. He doesn’t want her. She rested her hand on his bicep. He hated the feeling of her hand on him. Della’s skin was so soft and lit a fire under his skin. He couldn’t help but get excited. He misses her so much. It’s been almost 2 months.

“Hey handsome.” Joe smirked. He was not affected by her at all. He couldn’t wait to tell her off. Or he could wait for Della to show up and give her a kiss she won’t ever forget. If Sadie did try anything then Della would flatten her on the floor. He smirked. His girl was so feisty he loved it.

“What do you say we go to the bathroom. We can have a little fun.” That wasn’t a half bad idea… he can’t wait for Della to get here. The amount of fun he would have with her. She had to be desperate for him. But Wow Sadie really doesn’t give up. She pulled on joes arm. He got up. Not to follow her but to get away from her. He turned her towards him.

“Keep away from me. I don’t like you. I’m not attracted to you. I never have been and never will be. I’m in love with someone else. And she will be here any minute after we leave I’m asking her to marry me. So leave me alone.” Joe turned around and went to walk away. He found a table. It was 30 minutes since he messaged Della last.

‘Della you coming over?’

Silence. 15 minutes passed.

“Hey that’s your girl?” What? Glenn was looking at his phone. He knows he had a picture of him and Della. He smiled at the picture. He loves her so much.

“Yeah. Why?”

“She was here like 20 minutes ago. I saw her in the window.” Oh no! Right when Sadie was being Sadie! Joe rushed out of there as fast as he could! He sped over to Della’s house. He ran up the stairs and knocked.

“Della. We need to talk!”

“She’s not here.” Jared. Oh no. If she told her brothers anything Joe was a dead man.

“Her trucks here.” He’s not an i***t. Neither is Jared. She loves her truck. If it was here then she was definitely here.

“All I know is I haven’t seen her. She has a horse. She loves that thing.”

“Can I wait for her to get home?” He heard someone start running up the stairs.

“Della!” Joe pushed Jared out the way. Elton stepped in front of him.

“You need to leave her alone.” Elton sounded angry. There wasn’t much these boys won’t do for their sister.

“Della please.” She turned around. She was crying. He didn’t do anything and he needed to explain that to her!

“Elton move!” Joe hissed. He was done with these boys. Nick showed up at the top of the stairs. Joe needed to calm down. Nick would kill him. He just needs to explain to him.

“Go sit. You better start talking I heard what my little sister said when she came through the door.” Joe sat down. He was not going to mess with nick right now. That would be way too stupid of thing to do. He was so protective of Della. He really doesn’t know why she could take care of herself. She’s proven it to her brothers multiple times. He sat on the couch. He had his elbows on his knees. He was trying to think of how to tell them what he wanted to do. He wasn’t asking for their permission. At the end of the day him and Della were moving towards this. He wants a family with her. And once they start trying for a baby it would be easier if she was living with him.

“I was going to ask her to marry me. Then move in with me.” Everyone but Jared was shocked. Him and Joe have talked about this. He didn’t have a timeline he just knew he wanted to do this.

“She said you were cheating on her.”

“No! I would never do that. I love her! Sadie is some girl I met years ago that has an obsession with me. She keeps hitting on me and trying to get me to have s*x with her. What Della saw was me turning her down.”

“That’s going to be hard to make her believe that.” All their phones vibrated. A mission. Great this was going to go on for months. The longer it sat the more bitter Della would become. Joe didn’t like that. Nick pulled out his phone. Then all her brothers got a message. Joe pulled his out to message Della.

‘Hey I have a mission but we need to talk when I get back.’

‘I hate you! I don’t ever want to see you again! I hope you don’t come back!’

Not what he was expecting but he probably should have. She’s hurting and angry right now.

‘We will talk about this when I get back. I love you.’

Nothing. He wasn’t surprised. In her mind they were already done. Joe no longer loved her. He hasn’t for months. But that’s not true. Joe has and always will love her.

Della’s pov

It’s been three month since her brothers have been gone. She was bored. She got up and got dressed. She was going over to Jordan’s bar. She was hungry and didn’t want to cook anything. Also she was willing to kill for some fries so was her little baby. She was 5 months pregnant now. She doesn’t know the gender. She was waiting for Joe to get back. The baby was his. Maybe she can give the baby to him and then have him out of her life forever. She put on jareds hoody and breathed him in deeply. He smelt like Joe. She missed Joe. She grabbed her keys hopped in the truck and drove over to the bar.

“Hey you’re that glass of waters girl?”

“I’m sorry?”

“The one with the sleeve?” She smirked. Was he trying to describe Joe?

“I’m sorry I don’t know…”

“Joes girl.” Oh so he did mean Joe. Booo!

“Was. He cheated on me with a blond.”

“Are you crazy? He told her off. Her name is Sadie. She’s been after him for years. He can’t stand her.”

“But I saw her pull on his arm and him stand up…”

“He went to get a table. He was so excited for you to show up. He’s got some big big plans for you.” Wow. So he was faithful and she didn’t even want to hear him out. She just shut him out. “I know it’s none of my business but please give him a chance. Hear him out. This is the happiest I have ever seen him. ” Her phone buzzed. Seemed like they were all back.

‘We’re back! No incidents! Everyone’s in one piece. Starved but one piece.’

‘Send over your orders im at Jordan’s bar.’

‘You’re the best.’

“They just got back.”

“How about I give you joes usual? You can go over to his house and talk a little.” Her phone buzzed with her brothers orders.

“Okay. Can you add 4 cheeseburgers, with fries, and house salad with ranch?”

“And for you?” He wrote everything down. She was thinking. She’s never really eaten here before.

“I’m not sure…”

“Let me surprise you?” Okay

“The surprise has to come with a side of fries. I’d kill for them right now.” He smiled at her and walked away. He came back moments later with a side of fries and a water.

“While you wait. It’s on me.” He winked and walked away. She could marry him. He came with her brothers orders

“These are your brothers. And these are for you and your man.” He went to walk away.

“One second.” She said trying to grab her card.

“Oh no. I’m putting those on Sadie’s tab. She deserves to pay for them after what she did.” He winked and walked away. Okay. She still left him $10 for a tip. He was nice. She hopped in her truck. She dialed joes phone number from memory.

Joes pov.

They have been back almost two hours. He was hungry on the way home but now that he was home he wasn’t. He just wants Della right now. His phone buzzed. He picked it up and answered it real quick.

“Hello.” He said so nonchalant. He didn’t check the caller id.

“Hey I think we need to talk.” His body got stiff. Della! She was reaching out to him!

“I would like that.” He would. He needs to explain himself.

“I’m dropping food off at my brothers. I can come over after.” She didn’t know he moved to a different house. A bigger one. It was one of her arguments against kids. He had too small of a house.

“I would love that. Let me text you my new address.” He put his phone on speaker and then typed it up.

“You moved?” She sounded so surprised.

“We will talk about that when you get here.”

“Okay. Be there in like 10 minutes?” She sounded happy.

“If you aren’t I’m going to lock you out.” He was smirking. Della used that a lot when they were first dating. She laughed.

“Honestly I’m not even sure how you haven’t punched me in the face yet. I would deserve it.”

“Yes you would.” She laughed. “But I don’t want to hurt you. I hate seeing you hurting.” He doesn’t know how much of that she believes.

“I know. That’s why we need to talk… I just pulled up to my brothers house. Give me about 20 minutes.”

“Okay I love you.” He heard her hang up. 10 minutes later he saw headlights it was Della. He was so excited. He put the box down on the floor. He hired a moving company to move him while he was away. They did most of what he wanted. He heard a gentle knock on the door. He went over and opened it. It was her! In all her beauty and her brothers over sized hoody.

“I come bearing a peace offering.” He smirked. He reached out and grabbed her and hugged her. He breathed her in. She smelt different. Then it hit him! She was wearing the perfume he got her!

“You smell good.”

“Thanks for the perfume by the way. I know it’s been months. It apparently fell off my nightstand and ended up under my bed.”

“I told you about it when you were drugged.”

“I can see that. I’m sorry. But thank you anyway.” He smiled. Gosh he loves her.

“You’re welcome. You smell so amazing with it on.” He tightened his hold on her. She seemed to tighten her hold on him too. He loved it. They needed each other. Whether they liked it or not.

“Della I promise I…”

“I know.”

“You know?” How did she know how he was going to finish that sentence?

“Your favorite bartender told me everything.”

“Glenn?” Joe asked.

“That’s what his name tag said.” Joe laughed. “By the way… I’m like 90% sure he’s gay. The way he talks about you.” He laughed a little louder.

“Probably. I’ve known him for years.” He was there for Joe in the hard times of Della being underage.

“He packed your usual and a surprise for me.”

“Good! He makes some great food! How much did it cost? I can pay you back.”

“Oh no it’s okay.” She seemed like it was. Joe released her and let her walk in.

“You sure?”

“Yeah he put it on Sadie’s tab.” Joe laughed.

“I don’t like her.”

“Was she the one you had s*x with?”

“No. That was Rosie. She’s since moved. She found herself a man who wanted to be with her and they got married and moved away.” He doesn’t know why he was telling her that. She opened the bags. She smirked when she read the boxes. Joe walked over ‘tall, dark, handsome with a side of muscles and sleeve.’ ‘Beautiful woman with a nice voice who is too kind that belongs to tall dark and handsome’ Joe smirked.

“I think you have a boyfriend.” Della said laughing.

“No thank you. You’re the only one I want.” He pulled her close and kissed her. She moaned as he moved down from her face to her neck. His hands roamed her body.

“As much as I want to do this I was hungry an hour ago. I’m about to be a different person.” He laughed. Della had some issues with being hangry. “Let’s eat then relax a little. Then we can go to the bedroom. I packed a duffle. It’s in the truck.” That sounded so amazing!

“Okay.” He grabbed a couple of plates. She moved the boxes over to the table. He stole a couple of her fries.

“Hey I was craving those. Don’t make me stab you.” He reached over again and she stabbed him with her plastic fork. He laughed. She was feisty. It was fun. He hopes he never gets used to her. He moved closer to her.

“I love you so much.” He pulled her closer to him.

“I love you too.” He couldn’t hide his smile. She does love him! He knows what she said before he left for the mission was because she was angry. She thought he was cheating on her.

“I’m sorry for what I said before the mission…”

“I don’t want to think about that.” He really didn’t want to. It still stung a lot.

“I’m still sorry. I didn’t mean it.”

“I know.” He pulled her close and kissed her. She melted into him. He doesn’t know how much longer he can take without getting inside her. She moved back. They went back to eating. He grabbed another fry. She threw a piece of lettuce at him.

“You on your period?” He wanted to know because he has to prepare slightly. With enough towels. And for the mess. But boy does she c*m so hard when she’s on it. But she said she was craving the fries

“Not exactly.”

“Oh so you want me to trigger it?” He’s become very good at triggering it.

“Sure. We can go with that.” What did she mean by that? He will ask her later. They got done and Joe put the dishes in the sink and took the trash out to his trash can. Didn’t need it smelling up the house. Della was walking out of the bathroom when he came back inside. He grabbed her and kissed her.

“Go sit on the couch I’ll bring over with some popcorn.” He released her. She went and sat on the couch. He popped some popcorn and then grabbed her sour worms. He had a secret stash here for her. She didn’t seem to be paying attention. Good. He wants to keep these a surprise for her.
