World of the Z's

THE SEARCH

The next morning, the scientists showed up for their usual activity but they were welcomed by a bloody m******e of their 'highly trained officers' whose body parts were scattered everywhere and their blood painted on the nearby walls.

The scientists walked over the lifeless bodies and rushed into their labs to see if their patients were okay.

They were shocked to only find marcus comfortably seated on his bed reading a particular novel titled 'The Unexpected'.

ZEKE : What happened here?

MARCUS : (places the book down) Your patients decided to break out even after I tried to talk them out of it.

ZEKE : Did they by any chance mention where they were heading?

MARCUS : Nope.

SCIENTIST 3 : Hey I think one of the soldiers is still alive. He might tell us more of what happened.

ZEKE : I don't think he can be of any help. From the looks of it, he's in too much pain to talk. Lets take a look on the footage from our security cameras and please, put a stop to the soldier's suffering if you don't mind and make sure it's quick.

SCIENTIST 3 : Ok sir (walks towards the soldier and suffocates him).

The head scientist accesses the footage and sees the whole escape. He contacts the state officials and explains what happened and even sends them the footage for confirmation. He requests for another security troop who will aid them in the search of the zombies.

ZEKE : And please, send a more professional troop this time and some guys to clean up this bloody mess.

The troop arrives after a few hours and they immediately get into business. Brad, the head of security assigns each one of his troop members a duty to speed up the search and he requests help from the scientists since they knew the zombies better.

ZEKE : One of my scientist got bit and turned but i think he can help us in tracking the other zombies down.

BRAD : I can't allow that. What if he turns against us as soon as we let him out of his cube and you damn well saw what the zombies are capable of.

ZEKE : Im sure he won't harm us in any way. Let me talk to him.

BRAD : Okay but if he seems to be a threat, I'll drive a bullet straight through his brain, that's if he still has one.

ZEKE : There's no need of that.

Zeke approaches Marcus and opens his cube. Marcus shows no intention to hurt him and remains seated on his bed.

MARCUS : I heard you need my help.

ZEKE : How's that possible (amazed), we were metres away from you and you heard us?

MARCUS : Every single word. (smiles)

I can help you find them but you must promise you won't hurt them.

ZEKE : I can't promise that, I'm not the one leading this operation. But I'll talk to Brad.

Marcus agrees and walks out of his cube with Zeke. Zeke explains Marcus' condition to helping in the operation and Brad complies.

Brad and his troop head out through the forest searching for the zombies and brings Marcus and Zeke with him.
