Molly excitedly walked home, her steps light as she replayed the day's events over and over again in her mind.
She had left home to get married but ended up being marked by a werewolf.
The Werewolves could tell one another by the mark on their wrists. The humans see it as a normal tattoo but to the Werewolves, it's a way of identifying each other even without the bond or smell.
Molly hasn't felt her wolf since she was reborn so she could only identify he was a werewolf by the mark on his wrist. Hence, the reason why she had asked him to mark her.
As she got to the doorstep, she overheard the sounds of laughter and happy chattering coming from inside.
“When this marriage is settled, our Houston family will be very wealthy and then Eric and Sydney will also get married in a very grand way. It would be double happiness!”
“Auntie, don't worry, I will treat Sydney very well.”
Molly's hands on the doorknob froze. She suddenly felt a dull pain in her heart. Her emotions were uncontrollably low, she felt grief and anger.
All these emotions she suddenly felt in her heart didn't belong to her, they were the feelings of the original owner of the body she now inhabits.
Eric Landson was originally her fiance, and they had a stable relationship since childhood.
The Houston's family, valued the assets of Eric's family and insists the engagement should be with Sydney, their biological daughter instead.
Unexpectedly, Eric agreed.
Now, they are in there, discussing how they would sell Molly as a breeder to that old greezy Alpha Zane while their precious daughter, Sydney, marries Eric in a grand manner.
A cold, bitter smile tugged at Molly’s lips. No wonder the original owner felt so much bitterness.
Molly's hands tightened on the doorknob as the sadness in her eyes disappeared instantly, replaced by coldness and determination.
She opened the door and walked in.
As soon as the people in the room saw her, their smiles disappeared immediately.
Mrs Houston scoffed, crossing her arms. “How rude, can't you see that we have a guest? You don't even know how to greet?
A chill appeared immediately in Molly's eyes and her lips curved into a cold smile.
“Hello my ex-fiance”
The words were like a bomb in the room.
As soon as Mrs Houston heard that, she exploded, her face twisted in anger. “Molly you shameless bastard, what nonsense are you sprouting?”
Molly's eyes widened as she feigned surprise. “Did I say anything wrong? Taking over someone's fiance and being shameless about it, you two are truly a match made in heaven.
“You…you, how dare you?” Mrs Houston pointed in anger, her fingers trembling.
Sydney's tears fell instantly as she walked up to Molly, blaming herself, “Molly, I know you blame me. Eric was supposed to be your fiance but I took him away from you. I don't have any excuse to give, as long as it would make you feel alright, you can hit me or scold me”
Eric stood up immediately and pulled Sydney into his arms.
“Sydney what are you even saying? You're the true young lady of the Houston family, of course it's you I should be getting married to”
Molly smiled coldly as her clear brown eyes met their faces. The chill emanating from her gaze was so strong it sent a deep shudder down the spines of people.
Sydney was slightly startled.
This i***t was as stupid as a grasshopper, she was always easy to manipulate, she could always make her fall into any trap she sets.
So what happened today?
Why was she so different from before?
She wasn't reacting the way she used to
No begging. No foolish desperate attempt to cling to Eric.
She was calm, too calm and composed.
Or maybe she was overthinking things.
Sydney hesitated just for a little bit and then fell into Eric's arms, her eyes red and full of grievances as she cried bitterly.
“Eric, I don't think we have fate together. Even though I'm the biological daughter of my parents, it would really be selfish of me to take everything away from Molly”
Eric's jaw tightened, his face darkened immediately as he turned to Molly.
“Molly, you don't expect to marry into my family with your indecent and promiscuous private life right?”
“Because the engagement had been set between the both families, I couldn't break it off and now that the Houston's family had found their biological daughter, they naturally need to fulfil the marriage arrangement.”
Do you, a fake daughter, think you are qualified to marry into the Landson family?
Hearing this, Molly's chest tightened, her resentment was almost bursting to the surface. She wanted to scream at him and ask him why he was treating her this way.
The original owner of the body loved him so much and did everything within her power to please him. She remembered his sweet promises to her.
He once told her, she was his destined wife and no matter what happens, he would always love her and only she was qualified to be his Mrs Landson.
In the few months, Sydney had returned to the Houston family, she had seen her as the original owner of everything she had and had returned them all to her because she felt that as long as she still had Eric's love, nothing else mattered.
However, Sydney still found a way of taking him away from her, she slandered her and accused her of having a dirty private life. She had smeared her name, spreading vile rumors that destroyed her reputation in the city.
Eric saw all this but chose to rather stand by Sydney's side, joining the others to mock and ridicule her.
The night before her suicide, the original owner called Eric and begged him to help her find a way out. She doesn't want to marry Alpha Kane. But all she got was his ridicule and sarcasm.
It can be said that Eric was one of the reasons for her suicide.
And yet, even after driving her to death , here they were, still planning a wedding.
Molly, oh Molly, this scumbag isn't worth your sadness.
Sydney sniffled, her voice dripping with false sadness. "Eric, please don't be like this. Molly loves you so much. It's all my fault. If I hadn't returned, things wouldn't have turned out this way. Molly is right. I took everything from her. I really deserve to die!” Sydney said.
What a black-hearted actress!
The deep hatred for Sydney from her previous life, combined with the original owner's humiliation and resentment, made her blood boil and her eyes turned cold in an instant!
She clenched her fists and, in the next moment, raised her hand and slapped Sydney.
"Smack!”
The room went still.
Sydney’s head snapped to the side, her cheek burning red.
Molly slowly lowered her hand, her expression cold and merciless.
Everyone in the room froze, staring in stunned disbelief.
Sydney’s eyes widened in shock.
Molly smiled, but there was no warmth in it. Only quiet, simmering rage.
“That,” she said calmly, “was long overdue.”
