“Mark you?” Tristan asked, he hadn't seen such a carefree woman before, does she know what it means to be marked? Not to talk of being marked by a total stranger.
Molly blinked her eyes and laughed as if she hadn't just dropped a bombshell “Yes! look, you're a delivery guy and only make just a few thousands in a month, Mark me and you will turn into a millionaire overnight. Isn't that like a dream come true?”
Tristan stared at the suspicious lady before him, he was about to wave her off when she dropped another ridiculous offer.
“If you don't believe me, we can sign an agreement.” Molly added quickly, her tone sounding desperate as she spread her arms to block him from leaving. “All I want is your mark and after one year, we will reject each other and go our separate ways and during this one year we won't interfere with each other's personal life. How about that?” Molly proposed.
The wide innocent deer-like eyes of Molly teased Tristan's heartstrings.
His eyes narrowed, an evil smirk appearing on his lips. “You know marking comes after mating right?”
Molly felt her face flush, she took some steps backward as she shot him a warning glare. “Who cares if we have mated or not? Nobody will know! As long as your mark is on me, everyone will just think we did”
Tristan was amused as he took in the defiant posture of the lady, her raised chin and her glaring eyes looked like she would fight him if he harboured any other thought. Well, looks like she wasn't one of those trying to use different means to get into his bed.
Interesting.
A deep laughter rolled out from Tristan's throat. “Okay”
Molly was stunned, her eyes lit up. “You agreed?”
“Wasn't that what you wanted?”
“No, I mean yes!” Molly excitedly replied.
“So…uhm” Molly glanced around. “how do we do that?”
Tristan reached out and grabbed her waist, pulling her to himself. Molly's breath ceased as he leaned down and gently pulled her hair back exposing her neck, he adjusted her collars until her neck was laid bare to him, he inhaled her scent, it was unbelievably nice and alluring. His fingers lingered on her neck as he traced her neck line, causing Molly to swallow.
His tongue teased her neck, his teeth grazing slightly
Disappointment etched across the faces of the girls who had been swooning over Tristan as they watched him being intimate with another girl. They stamped their feet in anger and left.
Humans. Tristan scoffed as he watched them from the corner of his eyes.
As soon as they were alone, he sank his teeth into her neck, placing his mark.
Molly did the same.
She gasped, the sensation that ran through her wasn't what she expected, she staggered backwards, placing her hands on her neck as she tried to catch her breath. An unfamiliar force surged through her body. Tristan held her hands stabilizing her.
After what felt like some minutes, Molly let out a loud breath.
Tristan said nothing, he only stared at her.
“Thank you” Molly said, withdrawing from him.
She couldn't believe she had just been marked by someone who's not her mate—a total stranger. Well at least it's better than ending up with that old greezy Alpha.
“Remember you are now mine” Molly heard him say, his voice commanding and possessive.
Molly stared at him frowning. He's just a delivery guy, why does he have the aura of a cold billionaire Alpha?
She shook her head, dispelling the thought as she handed the card to him. “My password is today's date, don't spend too much okay?”
Tristan took the card but Molly held on tightly to the edge of the card. Tristan smirked and forcefully pulled the card away from her grip.
Molly sucked helplessly as she watched her meager savings being taken away by this handsome stranger. She angrily grabbed his phone and input her contact details.
“Remember to contact me a year from now for our rejection. Goodbye!” She said, storming out without looking back.
Tristan watched her leave and then looked at the bank card in his hands and her number on his phone.
A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
“Molly.”
Just then, a sleek black Rolls-Royce pulled up in front of him. Two men in suits got out and respectfully opened the car door.
Tristan got into the car and closed his eyes, rubbing his tired brow.
“Alpha, the old man wants you to come back to the pack” His assistant and best friend beta Damien, informed him.
Tristan let out a dry chuckle, his eyes still closed “Does he want to link me up with another vulgar woman? Ignore him and go to the apartment immediately”
“Yes Alpha” Damien said.
Tristan casually tossed the card and Molly's contact information to him. “Find out everything you can about this woman, I intend to make her my Luna.”
“Okay Alpha”
“Wait, what!?” Damien blinked, shocked.
“Are you surprised?” Tristan asked, arching his brows as he further leaned into his seat.
Damien stared at him in disbelief “I remember your word to the old man was that you would rather cut off your manhood than submit to a woman,” Damien said, eyeing him closely.
Tristan scoffed. That's because the only person I want to get married to is likely dead. I might as well just marry this one, at least it's just for one year and it would keep me away from all these unnecessary mating ceremonies and blind dates set up by the old man.
“Besides, I'm not interested in marriage,” Tristan continued, “but the woman I just met is intriguing. A perfect way to piss off the old man and wade off some kind of people”
Damien frowned, he couldn't help but wonder.
The powerful and most influential Alpha Tristan is Mated?
And to a woman whose background is completely unknown?
Damien shook his head.
“If the old man finds out, he would be very furious” Damien muttered
As one of the top three families in Washington DC, the Pierce family was a wealthy and powerful business empire and they run one of the strongest packs. The family was very careful when it came to selecting partners for their children. They didn't believe in “Fated Mates.” What they only cared about was power and influence.
Tristan is now the Alpha of Silver Claw pack and also the current successor of the Pierce family business. The social status of his Luna is highly valued by the old man.
“I don't like any of the ladies he picked, it's better to get mated to someone randomly to get rid of his ideas” Tristan said nonchalantly.
Tristan slowly opened his eyes with trace of sadness in them. He had prepared never to marry in his life. What difference does it make in who he marries now? The one woman he was willing to marry may already be dead.
Damien, as if reading Tristan's mind, sighed. “Alpha…Miss Audrey's body hasn't been found yet, maybe… there's still a chance she's alive.
Tristan sighed as he closed his eyes in resignation.
“I hope so”
