The three of them looked over and saw Molly descending from the stairs with a cold expression, the sound of her footsteps echoing in the room.
Mr Houston snorted, his voice filled with disdain “Who do you think you are? You still want Sydney to marry in your place?”
Molly's lips curved slightly “Didn't she say so herself? Or was I the only one who heard her?” She tilted her head, her tone mocking. “Since that's what she wants, I don't see any reason not to let her”
Hearing this, Sydney stiffened, her body tensed briefly but she quickly recovered. She rushed to Molly, crying out as she held onto her hands. “Molly, I know you resent me for coming back into the Houston's family and taking your place, if it would make you feel better, I'm willing to marry Alpha Kane in your place”
What a skilled, pretentious actress. They had lived together for seventeen years and she never even knew she possessed this kind of talent.
Molly opened her mouth to respond but she was stopped by Mr Houston's furious outburst.
“Nonsense!” Mr Houston scolded loudly. “Clearly she's the one who took your place Sydney.”
Turning his attention to Molly, his gaze darkened as he continued. “Molly we have raised you for so many years, now it's your turn to repay us”
Molly raised an eyebrow.
“Alpha Kane and his people will be here tomorrow morning,” Mr Houston continued. “You should better prepare yourself and don't dare pull this stupid stunt again!”
Molly's eyes narrowed. Oh, she wasn't going to take her life again, but she would definitely pull a stunt they wouldn't see coming. A small mischievous smile tugged at her lips.
Sydney felt Molly's icy gaze and sharp eyes piercing through her, a cold shiver ran through her body, her heart enveloped with fear.
She swallowed. What's with that gaze? Why do they feel so terrifying?
Since they desperately want to marry her off, she would grant them their wish. Turning around, Molly left the room.
Thinking of using her to achieve fame and fortune? Hmmph, wishful thinking.
Since they want her married so badly, she would just find a man herself to marry and put an end to their dreams. Molly thought as she headed out into the city.

“Buy two, get one free! Buy two, get one free!”
The voices kept ringing in Tristan's ears, like an annoying chant. He couldn't believe he was tricked by Oliver to partake in this advertisement.
He had just come into the city for something important and had thought to catch up with his friend for old time sake. But unfortunately, his timing was wrong. Oliver was in the middle of opening his new delivery business, he had forced him to put on one of the advertisement shirts and had dragged him out into the street.
After standing for 30 minutes, Tristan was beyond irritated, he could see that Oliver was very busy today.
He took out his phone and sent a text message to Oliver.
I'm leaving.
And then he put a quick call across to his assistant.
“Come pick me up, I'm done here and come with a change of shirt” He ended the call immediately without waiting for a reply, he shoved the phone back into his pocket. He found a quiet spot, a few distance from the crowd and stood there staring at his watch as he awaits his assistant.
Molly, who had been walking for a while, noticed the crowd gathered a few distances away. She curiously moved towards the crowd but froze when she spotted a man carelessly leaning by a pole. She wanted to walk past but he was too handsome to resist. She also noticed some ladies were stealing glances at the guy, whispering and giggling amongst themselves.
A thought hit her and immediately a mischievous smile tugged at her lips as she approached him.
“Hi handsome,” she greeted, staring into his piercing gray eyes. Oh moon goddess, are all delivery guys this good-looking?
Tristan glared at the woman in front of him, irritation flashing in his eyes, wondering where she came out from.
“May I ask if you're married?”
Tristan was visibly stunned, his eyes scrutinizing her heavily. His jaw tightened. When did women become this bold? How shameless.
Molly blinked, fluttering her lashes as she awaits his answer. Unfazed by his scrutinizing gaze.
“Miss, I think you went to the wrong place, you should rather go to a psychiatric hospital”
His voice was icy cold and dangerous, but to Molly, she felt it was the most pleasant voice she had heard in her two lives.
Molly felt embarrassed and sighed heavily, withdrawing her gaze. “You're right, who approaches a man on the street and outright ask if he's married”
Tristan narrowed his eyes as he studied her.
Molly bit her lips, deep in thought. How can she convince this handsome man to marry her without sounding like someone who just escaped from a mental home.
Suddenly a thought came to her mind.
Her brown eyes lit up as she reached into her purse, bringing out a bank card. “Here” she said, extending the card towards him. “Inside this card is 5 million, marry me and it's all yours”
As her hands hung in the air she prayed in her heart. Molly let this card save the both of us in this time of trouble.
Tristan raised an eyebrow, amusement appearing briefly in his usually indifferent eyes.
“Okay, let's say I agree to marry you, it's already late to go register for a marriage, the civil affairs bureau would be closed by now” Tristan said, folding his arms, a smug smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
Molly blinked, taken aback. She hadn't thought of that.
Damn it. He was right.
The civil affairs bureau would be closed already but she had to get married today, else, she wouldn't be able to escape marrying Alpha Kane tomorrow morning.
She took a long look at him and finally said the word that shocked both of them.
“Mark me”
Oh, crap! Did she really just say that?
