"No!" I exclaimed and stood from the table. I do not care if the people inside the restaurant start to look at us. I won't allow this happen! Not to me! This is not a freaking movie! Mrs. Florie Charleston as well as my mom and dad were taken aback at my sudden outburst. She is a very nice woman and I somehow feel guilty for acting like this but I can't let them rule my life like I am an incapable woman of making my own life's decisions. I want to live my life like how I want it to be. "Hija, please calm down..." my mom tries to make me sit down looking worried. I decided to calm myself and took my seat again. "I know this is not easy for you hija. You're young and you want to live your life but..." she stops midway. "But what Mom?" "You're already graduating from college. Your dad and I as well as Florie here--we're not getting any younger. We also yearn to have grandchildren." I control my breathing and bit my lower lip, a bad habit of mine. "Why, hija, don't you want to be married to my son, Ace? He's handsome just a little serious most of the time." Mrs. Charleston said referring to the guy who is sitting across from me, his face has no hint of expression in it. "I-It's not that Mrs.Charleston...He--well--he's old." "Snow! He's just 4 years older than you." my dad said, surprised at what I've said. I almost pouted as I look at the man in front of me. He has those sharp features. Too manly for my taste. He does not talk a lot and his face is always serious. It's like he does not know anything about the word 'relax'. "Snow?" Shoot! I snapped back to reality. "Are you okay, princess?" dad asks me. "Uh, yes dad I just remembered something." "Okay, but going back to what we are talking about, we want you both to know that our decision is final. No buts." mom said. I close my eyes trying to calm myself. "How about you, Ace? What do you think? You haven't talked much." my dad asked the man in front of me. "It's fine with me, Mr.Son. As long as that's what my mom wants also." he replies with his deep voice. What?? No!!! You must say no!! I almost want to choke him right on that spot. "That's a relief. Oh look at the time, I still have a conference meeting in two hours, I better be on my way to the company." "Let's go, I also have a meeting to attend." my mom agrees. "I also have a party to attend to later on. I should get ready." Mrs. Charleston said. "We'll get going," mom said as I was about to stand up to follow them. "You two, talk. Snow, do not do anything stupid and don't go home late." She and dad both kissed me on my forehead before they left. "Why one earth would you agree to them?!" I quickly snapped when they were gone. He stops typing on his phone and met my gaze. "I'll do whatever makes my mom happy. She's always alone since my dad died so even if I don't want to I'll do it for her." he answers in a monotonous tone. "I can't do this! I can't marry my professor!" I said defeated.
