The Writer's Love Story

“Whoa!!” a loud angry voice suddenly came out from Jesy’s mouth. She leaned towards her work table, staring blankly on her laptop screen. Her head is about to explode trying to squeeze out all of her ideas. How could she start writing a love story, when all she can think of are magical creatures and powers she created in her world? Fantasy has always been her genre ever since she started writing. Now she is taking the chance to write for a love story writing contest, which is very odd for her to touch anything about romance. She’s curious about the winning prize. If she wins, her story will be featured and used for the Chinese TV drama. That sounds interesting. Jesy is an Executive Assistant for Gold Mall Corporate Office, where she spends ten hours of her day running around and organizing stuff for her boss. Her daily routine revolves around paper works and emails which makes her feel bored. Nothing is really inspiring about this job, her only motivation is to help her family live a better life. She has fallen asleep in front of her computer a couple of times. She would sometimes count the papers she has printed back and forth because of boredom. Two years ago, she learned about ImagiNovel, one of the biggest online reading app worldwide. She joined the team and has been writing fantasy stories online for two years now. Last year, one of her stories became popular when she won a writing contest. Thousands of young readers followed her because of such unexpected popularity. Now that she’s one of the rising writers, many fans are curious about her private life. She never planned to be famous from the beginning, so she wants to keep her identity a secret. “Hello Trix? What is it?” she cleared her throat and sipped the coffee left in her cup. “Girl, what’s wrong with you? You’re too harsh to your readers,” Trix sounds disappointed. “Why, what’s going on? I didn’t do anything.” “They wanted to meet you, you can show yourself on social media at least. It’s just a simple request from your fans, Jes,” Trix continued. Trixie and Jesy were best friends since high school. Their communication had been consistent even after they chose different careers now. Trixie is now a dentist based in a nearby city. Regardless of her busy schedule, she never missed anything about her best friend. She is Jesy’s number one fan, and always will be. “Trix I understand why you are upset. I know you can’t wait for the whole world to see your beautiful best friend!” Jesy laughed. She knew Trixie wants her to embrace her fame and achievement. “Im serious! I know how it feels as your fan. Well, my advantage is I am my idol’s best friend,” She giggled. “I know, but if I show myself, I’ll trade off my privacy. I just want to keep it low key Trix. Only you and I knows this little secret. Also, I want our coffee dates to be as private and peaceful as it should be,” Jesy added. “Okay then miss Fairy GodWriter, your wish is my command. Let’s have our milk tea date as planned. I’ll be there at 9am tomorrow, see you,” Trixie joked, mentioning Jesy’s codename as a writer. Jesy sighed and ended the call. She has to go back writing now. Trixie might help her think of new ideas, she could get an inspiration from there. Hangover again, Gab thought. He hates hangovers most after drinking too much. It’s already 9am. He’s late for his scheduled meeting! He grabbed his towel and slowly walked towards the bathroom. Gabriel is an award winning film producer. He is 30 years old and a known bachelor in the film industry. Who would think he is still single with his handsome face and perfect built? It’s been a year now and he’s still messed up as he was since the day Liz broke up with him. Liz is a famous young actress and model. Gab was about to propose to her when she decided to quit show business and study abroad. Everything he has planned for went into waste. Nothing has changed since the day Liz walked out of his life. He parties and gets drunk almost every day with his cousin Ron. He lost his focus and direction totally. He grabbed his car keys and outside his house, Ron is already waiting for him. Ron gave him a cup of coffee. “Drink while its hot bro, we are late,” Ron said and opened the side door. Gab sighed. “Yeah I’m sick of getting drunk bro.” “Oh? Wow that’s new. You’ve changed a lot since last night!” Ron teased him and laughed. “Too soon? Nah I just think I have wasted so much time,” Gab explained without looking at Ron. “Are you serious? Let me check your temperature,” Ron placed his hand over Gab’s forehead. “Stop it Ronald, I’m driving,” Ron laughed at him. “Come on, you are my cousin! I was shocked bro. But I think I have a good idea,” Ron glanced at him. “What is it Ron, stop your tricks on me. You’ll never win.” “I think maybe you can try something new and fresh,” Ron added, and took Gab’s picture. “Wait, what are you doing man?” Gab asked curiously. Ron kept silent and uploaded Gab’s photo on a dating site. “Wait, it’s a weird idea. You want me to date someone?” Jesy was shocked. “Girl, relax. It’s just a date. You are not going to get married straight away,” Trixie explained. “You never dated anyone Jes. you need to feel it so you'll get the inspiration you need,” she added. “I don’t think it’s a good idea. Can you please suggest other things? I just need a storyline. Why do I need to date a guy?” Jesy asked. “Because I think you need to experience and see it for yourself. If I would just give you ideas, it’s not going to work,” Trix explained throwing her a malicious smile. “Okay then. Can you help me what to do during the process? I seriously have no idea,” Jesy stated. Trixie smiled and explained what to do next.
