CHAPTER 3

" I accept" Amanda said agreeing to spend a night with a complete stranger. As much as she cursed herself for doing this she knew she was doing it for someone who's precious to her.

As much as she wanted to hang up the phone and put a stop to this ridiculous idea she didn't.

" That is very good news indeed I'm sure my employer will be very pleased with your decision" She heard him say.

" Now unto the important details, you will be meeting him toni..." Amanda stopped him before he could continue." wait I'm meeting him so soon?" she asked.

" Yes Mrs Smith you'll be spending the night with him, as tonight's his final night in this city, now as I was saying you'll be spending the night with my employer, you'll be required to wear special clothing that will arrive at your residence shortly choose what complements your grace and poise the best are you still listening? the man asked.

" Yes I'm listening" Amanda answered his question will rubbing her temples as she tried to come to terms with what she was about to do.

" Excellent you will also be required to sign a contract of confidentiality, once your tasks are complete your payment will be made to your account, are you ok with this?" she heard him say.

" yes I'm fine" she lied. " alright then once again this is up to you, you can cancel this business agreement and we can stop this whole thing so ill ask one more time are you sure about this?" He asked her once more.

" I'm sure" she said with a confident tone. " Alright the package with your attire for tonight and the contract will arrive shortly, please read the contract carefully then sign it, and hand It to your chauffeur that will be escorting you to the penthouse, see you tonight Mrs. Smith," he said.

Just as he was about to hang up. " wait! you haven't told me your name" Amanda Said and heard him chuckle. " Oh I'm so sorry my Name is John, John brown," He said before he hangs up.

" Great! that's at least part of this mystery solved" Amanda said sarcastically leaning back into her couch messaging her temples from her growing headache.

Hearing a bark she turned around and saw her German Shepherd walking towards her chocolate brown eyes filled with joy. " Hey boy your finally awake" Amanda said bending down to pet him as his tail wags as he pants.

Someone knocks against the door causing her dog to tilt his head to the side before he rushes towards the door excitedly letting and sat down.

The door opened up and Amanda's Cousin Celine steps inside both hands occupied by two large shopping backs. " Hey charlie" Celine said happily as the dog barked and begins following her into the kitchen where she places down the shopping bags on the counter.

" Hey Amanda" Celine said as she opened the cupboards and began packing in the canned groceries. Amanda began helping her handing her the groceries while she packed.

"How was work today?" Amanda asked as she handed Celine a bottle of ketchup. " It was fin... Hey! get down from there" Celine shouted at Charlie as he tried to steal a slice of ham of the counter. Charlie flops down at looked up at Celine with sad puppy dogs eyes while eyeing the cut of ham on the counter.

" Not a chance buster, this is people food," she said before she takes out his favorite chew toy and threw it causing him to chase after it with an excited bark. " That should keep him busy for a couple of minutes" She chuckles as she places the ham in the fridge before she turns her attention back towards her cousin.

" As I was saying before that rascal interrupted, work was great we had a lot of costumers today" she said closing the fridge. " The Hospital called about Grandma" Celine said leaning against the counter looking at her younger cousin.

" They said you paid for her Five thousand dollar treatment, No offense cuz but that diner doesn't make that kind of cash, hell even I've been trying to save that amount for months now so I'm asking as your older cousin where did you get that amount of cash, you didn't ask that asshole for help did you?" Celine asked Amanda.

" No Nathan's not the one that paid for Grandma's treatment, I ran into an old friend and he gave me the money" She lied. Celine raised a suspicious eyebrow at Amanda crossing her arms over her chest.

" An old friend?" she asked and Amanda nods. " And he gave you five grand just like that?" she asked again. " Yes he said he understood my situation and wanted to help me" Amanda lied.

Celine stared at her eyes boring into hers. Amanda became nervous as she became uncomfortable under Celine's Intense stare it was like she was peering into Amanda's soul.

Celine sighs " We'll that's very generous of him" she said turning away and breaking the spell and tension that started to become stifling in the room.

" And he didn't expect anything in return?" Celine asked. " Actually he wanted to go out for drinks tonight so he asked if I would come and I told him i would" Amanda said.

Celine turned and looked back at her then shrugged. " Your a grown woman Amanda, you don't need my permission if you want to go out and have fun" she said.

Amanda smiled at her gratefully then glanced down at her phone noticing it was getting late she realized she needed to get ready.

" Omg I'm going to be late I need to get ready" she said looking at Celine who waved her off. " Go ill take care of the rest of the groceries" she said continuing to unpack.

Amanda smiled " Did anyone ever tell you your the best cousin a girl could ask for" she said as Celine chuckled.

" Oh I know I'm awesome" she said as Amanda rolled her eyes. " And super humble too" she said sarcastically as Celine chuckled and continued to pack.

Amanda rushed down the hallway wondering how the rest of the night was going to go
