The sound of the doorknob struggling to open caused us to stop moving. Despite my rapid heartbeat, I mentally prepared myself. I sense someone moving closer to me and hiding behind me. I'm not sure if it's Wysleigh, Trixie, or Heaula.
I can smell Carrie right there next to me, and I have no doubt that it was she who bravely stood there with me.
"Embrace yourselves, girls," Carrie said as she leaned over to me and whispered to us.
Hearing the door, I embraced myself and tried my best to open my eyes wide, but I was unable to do so since the unexpected light from outside was causing my eyes to tear, and my head felt lightheaded. My vision has gone entirely black, and my eyes are in severe pain. I attempted to quietly close my eyes and relax so that my vision would turn naturally.
