She kissed him back with pulsating desire, she didn't know what was happening or why he was kissing her but she wasn't about to stop.
His tongue invaded her mouth and savoured it, he groaned and grabbed onto her waist to deepen the kiss. It was ecstasy, he hadn't felt this burst of emotions in so long now, since…
"My Lord" came a voice from behind the garden they were sitting in.
Jared paused the kiss but didn't let go of her lips. He waited patiently for the person to speak again and when there was still silence he reluctantly let go of Elena's lips and with an angry tone asked "What the hell is it!?"
Elena giggled quietly, Jared's anger was cute.
"My Lord your presence and that of My lady is required at the party, for the toast making" the voice was shaky and it seemed the attendant was scared, probably of Jared.
"We'll be there in a minute. Leave" Jared dismissed him.
The attendant bowed and quickly walked away.
With the attendant gone an awkwardness settled in. Jared let go of her waist "We should probably go back now" he said reluctantly as he got up.
Elena laughed awkwardly "When did you get so tough My Lord? You used to cry alot and get bullied" she teased him in an attempt to lighted the awkward mood.
He smirked "Guess I finally grew into myself, thanks to you who had my back and taught me how to fight" he said demonstrating a few punches that sent Elena laughing hard.
He gave her his hand and together they walked back to the party.
Jared kept the toast short as he wasn't in the mood for heartfelt speeches and long toasts. After the toast he resided to greeting the guests who were in attendance.
Elena who didn't have any relatives or friends decided to admire the night view. The garden was huge and lit from end to end with beautiful lights, she smiled as the cold night air brushed her cheeks, she hadn't felt so at ease in so long.
"You are smiling?" A voice came from behind her, it was Mrs Light-Fur "What gives you that right? After stealing my daughter's big night you dare to be happy?"
Elena was shocked and didn't know what to say, she feared that Mrs Light-Fur would get violent with her like before.
"I'm sure you hadn't expected me to be here, but let's just say I had to see for myself, what a treason record lowly Omega thief looked like, I can't believe we took you in for all those years only for you to betray us" she pushed Elena's shoulder with her finger.
"You are lucky it's a fake wedding because if not…" she pushed Elena again "...you…" another push "... would've…" another push "...been…" another push "...dead…" another push "...by now…" a last push that brushed Elena's back hardly against a pole.
"Mrs. Light-Fur, I didn't think you would come" Jared said, walking up to them with a hard expression.
"Oh My Lord, you look fantastic, you would have looked even better with a bride of high class by your side" she smirked.
"In due time" he said "meanwhile my current Luna is to be treated with utmost respect, failure to do that I'm afraid would attract a terrible punishment on your side" he warned.
Her eyes widened with fear and she hurriedly walked away.
"Are you okay?" Jared asked Elena as he checked her back to see if she was hurt.
"Don't worry, it's nothing" Elena dismissed his sympathy, she didn't want him pitying her.
"Did she do this regularly when you stayed with them?" He asked refusing to drop the topic.
I said it's alright Jared. It doesn't matter if she hit me regularly for the past decade or not, nobody actually cares because she is not the traitor, I am" Elena didn't understand why she was getting angry, maybe it was because she felt embarrassed that Jared had seen her get treated like that, she used to be someone he saw as strong and unyielding. Her new image embarrassed her.
"Elena" Jared was flustered by her outburst.
"You can't possibly understand can you? You are the victim here so you can never see things the way I see them. Sometimes I wonder if I should have just been killed with the rest of my traitor family" her voice was shaky with emotions "that would have surely saved you all the stress of having to deal with my existence. You wouldn't have needed an excuse to marry the one you truly wanted".
She stomped away and headed straight into her dressing room, she was done with this charade for the day, she needed a good night sleep after all that acting.
Jared turned around to go back into the party after she had left "What's wrong with her?" He asked himself, unable to understand her outburst just minutes ago.
"Traitor" someone said behind him.
"What?" He turned to see the high priest of the Pack Union.
"What else do you call a man that betrays and kills his savior?" The priest asked Jared.
"What exactly are you talking about?" Jared asked.
"My Lord you are a traitor, you betrayed your savior" The high Priest answered.
Jared who wasn't interested in indulging him started walking away.
"And now you are using his daughter to get what you want. How despicable" the Priest said irritatedly.
Jared froze in his steps "What exactly are you trying to imply?" He grabbed the priest's shoulders.
"The man that tried to save you from death got executed because of your testimony against him" the Priest stated.
Jared looked more confused than ever.
"Poor boy, you know nothing do you?" The Priest laughed.
"I will gut you if you do not explain yourself properly" Jared threatened him.
"One was killed in order to save another and died for the sake of the same" he rambled on.
"Speak English" Jared was getting frustrated at this point.
"You were the one who was supposed to die that day, no one else but you" the Priest paused "You were to die by your brother's hands".
