CHAPTER FOUR
Tyla's POV
We watched as Damon and his rogues left the chamber. His eyes never left mine as he backed out of the room.
Once he was gone, I took in a deep breath and turned to face Damascus, who had a huge smile on his face.
"I am glad you did not accept the bond with Damon."
My mind was rather preoccupied with something else. How did Damon become a rogue King in the first place?
"Why is he a rogue King?" I asked.
"I thought I told you the incident that happened?" The king asked, staring at me with concern.
I shrugged my shoulders, eager to hear what had happened.
"Several wolves were cast out of their various packs and one of them is Damon. So what did Damon do? He thought it was a great idea to rule over every one of them and that is exactly what he did."
I begin to wonder if this tale he was narrating happened before I met Damon or after I had been executed in my previous life.
"You don't have to worry about the man you are going to get married to because I have a perfect ideal man for you."
"So you are trying to fix up an arranged marriage for me?" I asked to be sure.
"Of course, that is what every Alpha, Lycan kings, or even Alpha Kings do. We marry off our beautiful daughter to another high-class personality."
"I am not some sort of asset that should be thrown around the place. I refuse to be a party to this wedding that you are planning."
I could not handle the pressure or pain of giving my heart to another man yet again.
"Trust me you will love him. I am talking about Alpha Jonathan of the Queensville Pack."
I froze in that minute. My heartbeat slowly began to rise, and soon it was pounding. I felt a lump in my throat and I quickly folded my fist in anger.
"Alpha what?"
My stepbrother? I am being handed over to the one person that I detest the most in my entire life. The moon goddess was definitely sp cruel.
"I cannot get married to Alpha Jonathan!" I affirmed my decision and tried to walk away, but I heard a growl behind me.
"You will not walk out on your King!"
Like a spell, I was glued to the spot but did not turn around to face him.
"All I ever want for you my darling is to get the best of life. By marrying the Alpha Jonathan, we reach strong alliances and make peace with each other. I want you to have a closer look at the bigger picture."
Thinking about Jonathan's face brought an extra layer of anger inside of me. The one brother that I hoped should swear his loyalty to me, offsit me off the throne.
I did not see myself getting married to him in any way.
"If Alpha Jonathan becomes your husband, you can also help me get information from him as well."
An idea flew to my mind and I turned to face Damascus, with a smile lingering on my face.
"Maybe you do have a point."
The smile on his face was wide as I said those words.
"I knew I did not give birth to a weakling," he said with excitement etched on his face. "He will be here to get you pretty soon, I need you to go back to your room and start making preparations."
Getting married to Jonathan will give me access to the throne and it gives me leverage to finally have my revenge and take back my title as Alpha.
I was being escorted back to the room, when I realized the locked soldiers were still inside the room.
"What is that sound?" The Beta asked as we approached the door.
"I locked two of the soldiers that my father asked to protect me," I said nonchalantly, while he stopped in his steps.
"You did what?"
"I said I locked the soldiers that had been sent to monitor me."
The surprise on his face changed into amusement and he shook his head trying to refrain from laughing too hard.
"Your father was right after all? You do have his blood running inside your vein." He expressed.
We arrived at the door and I pulled the key to the door and unlocked it.
The scowl on the faces of the soldiers was evident, but I could care less, as they stepped out of the room.
"Princess Annie?" I raised my head to meet the Beta's gaze. "I am happy you have decided to marry Alpha Jonathan."
I smiled in response and watched him leave the room afterward.
My thirst for revenge increased knowing it was already going to happen sooner than I expected. I closed my eyes, my imagination taking me far as to get the excitement of what my claws would do when I drove it inside of Jonathan's heart.
Such a satisfying scene.
My imagination was broken, the moment a knock came through the door.
"Princess Annie? Alpha Jonathan is here."
I rushed to the wardrobes and settled for a simple outfit. I stared at the mirror, at my new self.
I did not have the usual dark skin nor did my eyes glow underneath the night anymore. However, I was glad to have a second chance to live and rewrite the pain from my past life.
I stepped out of my room and walked through the hallway and back to the chambers. When the curtains were pulled aside, my eyes landed on Jonathan, who appeared to be laughing at a joke made by Damisus.
I just wish I could snap his neck at that moment.
"Isn't she beautiful?"
"She is very beautiful, Your Highness, I am happy that you are giving me your daughter to be my bride."
I did not trust the smile on his face. Jonathan was the devil and he needed to be buried beneath the earth.
How dare he sit down so comfortably, knowing how much blood flows in my pack.
"Very well then, I will leave her in your care. I don't want anything happening to her." Damisus pleaded.
"On my word your Highness, your daughter will be protected by me."
