Chapter Thirteen
Still scanning the area, Meikah followed Kellan. It didn’t take them long to discover where the other two guards had gone. Shade fought them, the prisoners hiding in a single storey building behind him. He sent gusts of wind to send the fireballs they tossed at him back towards them. Meikah struck the ground in front of the guards with lightning, grinning when they dived for cover.
As soon as they had the chance, they joined Shade, the three of them retreating to the building where the prisoners peered out the windows. Kellan nodded towards the guards. “We’ll keep them busy while you get everyone out of here. Join us once they’re safely away.”
Shade gave a single nod, leading the prisoners out the back of the building while Meikah and Kellan kept the guards busy.
