Meikah pulled Kellan back from the edge of the building when he would have stepped out into the open. “Are you trying to get yourself killed?”
“They both use fireballs. I can deal with fireballs. As long as you don’t take too long,” Kellan said.
“Are you sure?” She met his gaze, seeing the mist in his brown eyes.
Kellan gave a single nod. “You get the horses while I distract the guards. If we don’t hurry, Hincke will get too far ahead and we’ll have no hope of finding him.”
Letting out a slow breath, she released him, taking a step back. “Be careful.”
“I will.” With another grin, Kellan stepped around the corner of the building and strode towards the guards.
