Meikah didn’t want to think about the possibility of them not rescuing her grandfather. “When do we leave?”
After some discussion, and a few minor arguments, they settled on a cover story and Shade went to gather supplies, taking with him some of the money Danton had given Kellan for their stay in Port Mayren. Everything felt like it took too long to Meikah, and she wished she could remain as calm as Isha. How had she managed a lifetime of not knowing if her husband would come home?
